Time Out Sports Grill — Restaurant in Carthage

I will leave two stars because their food was good. No complaints there. Nothing crazy but decent pricing, their pulled pork was amazing. Now I would give zero stars for customer service. Be sure to bring your ID even if you are not ordering drinks and even if you look WELL OVER 21 lol and it was the middle of the day. We came & had one of the ladies in our group taste my drink….. well that was a terrible mistake because when I go to order another drink, they say we were banned from ordering anymore drinks since I was sharing drinks and that person had not shown ID or bought drinks. Now this had to be the most strangest thing I have experienced in a restaurant, ever. We were all well over drinking age, married, with kids there, not to mention the police officer in our group. To think that the staff just sits around starring at who’s drinks go into who’s mouth at any given moment was pretty weird and uncomfy how the staff stood in a corner just talking about us as if we weren’t all right there. They forgot to bring my husband the water he ordered and he had to drink my water so I was surprised afterward that they didn’t see that happen… Needless to say, we won’t return. A bit of a back story involved here. We were travelling back from Cary, NC to Charlotte, NC after a funeral. As such, we were all in formal attire. That being said, we were all very hungry and decided to give it a go since it had really high reviews and there is practically nothing between those two cities.

So, the five of us in various states of sadness and various states of formal attire go in and I swear to you that you could hear a pin drop. We did not look the part for a local sports bar.

Without skipping a beat, the server showed us to our seat and was very friendly. I feel like he had a lot of questions, but he didn't ask. We asked him what was good and he gave us his recommendations. We ordered and the food was out piping hot very quickly. And the food itself was AMAZING. The cheese sticks there are divine.

The only reason I am docking this place a star is because it is loud... the music coming through the speakers is overpowering. I know this is a personal preference being that it is a sports bar, so take that for...

3 years ago I gave this place 5s it was a little too much, but I really wanted this place to make it and be good, but now for the past 18 months I come in here about every 2 to 3 months thinking something has changed. But every time I'm disappointed, the staff on the floor are always bad, they're always to busy checking their phones than to see if the customer needs something. The beers that they have on tap are always sorry and always all IPAs or some beer with fruit in it (yuck) Today I ordered the pulled pork and wings platter, my food took a long time (there was only 4 other people in the restaurant) my food came out the pulled pork was ice cold and my wings were fried chicken legs, no explanation just put in front of me and the attendant behind the counter went back to checking her phone.
