Gloria Jean's Coffees — Restaurant in Cary

Since Covid, I’ve been looking for a coffee place in the RDU area to do some REALLY late night studying (think 1-4 am). Basically, somewhere to cram for a morning exam that isn’t my house. When I saw this place was open 24 hours, I was initially skeptical, but it turns out it’s true! It’s a coffee stand located inside the RDU Galleria. In case you haven’t been, the RDU Galleria is like this funky hybrid between a convenience store and mall food court put together. However, there are plenty of booths with power outlets right next to the coffee stand to study, chat, browse the web, or just generally kill time while waiting for your flight at RDU. The staff at Gloria Jean’s was very friendly despite the fact that I walked in 30 minutes before midnight. I just wanted drip coffee early in the am and googled this place. Nice clean atmosphere, the hours (24hrs) are great and it appears they solved the missing workers complaints by placing a sign with " ring this bell if we aren't here". I rang and they came running...literally. My issue is the drip coffee is severely lacking. I was hoping they had at least 3 different brews to choose from but apparently it's just one. The condiments seemed lacking as well with just basic sugars and single serve creamers. Fortunately they had soy milk behind the counter but you have to ask. Guess I miss the old days with actual coffee bars were you can serve yourself and they had plenty of options for flavors, creamers and sweeteners. If you’re looking for a basic espresso drink, no frills, just palatable coffee at a reasonable price…..there’s literally a Sheetz gas station right next door….go there….that’s the longest I ever had to wait for nearly undrinkable caffeine fix thanks to the girl behind the counter who looked like she had never worked the machinery before in her life and had no interest in learning how...(the place was empty and I was the only one ordering at 8am on a weekend, so no reason it should take 15minutes to...
