Prospect Hill by Founders Brewing Company — Restaurant in Cascade Charter Township

I like Founders beer, but I'll put that aside because this is a restaurant. You might not expect a lot at an airport, but there has to be at least some standard, and the Founders' downtown restaurant seems like a pretty obvious point of comparison. Needless to say, I I anticipated decent food.

The menu at Prospect Hill describes its olive burger served on a brioche bun, and finished with an olive aioli, so naturally I was expecting the rest of the dish to land a good notch or two above your typical sports bar grub. Instead, I received two overcooked pieces of rubber (presumably from frozen) on a stale 50 cent bun, and a light spreading of some faint pink substance that tasted of absolutely nothing. Why pink, by the way? So forget gourmet, forget even Smash or Five Guys, and think Steak n' shake on a bad night. I sent it back and got a pulled pork sandwich instead, and it was decent - hence the one star.

I don't think it's an overstatement to call this place an embarrassment to the Founders name. Shame on them for ripping off...

Food was mediocre but our real issue was the service. Our waitress tried to get me to give her my credit card without giving us a bill saying she’d bring a receipt. It was very odd. Then she punished us by taking forever to come back when they know people have flights to catch…the place was mostly empty. We finally get the bill and there’s a scam charge on there for $12 “herb fries” which we didn’t order and aren’t even on the menu. Waited probably another 10 minutes to finally get a manager to correct it and it seems like he’s in on this scam too as he seemed instantly frustrated and argued with us. Definitely wouldn’t eat here again and don’t trust them with your credit card without inspecting the bill. Terrible service.

Editing to add: I just read through the 1-star reviews here and almost all say something about the servers adding bogus charges...

If you want SLOW, slow service & horrible processed food, this is your place! Waitress had a great personality, but failed to remember 1/2 the food items on the menu were not offered due to lack of a cook! When we asked what type of breading was on the chicken nuggets, she said she didn't know. People need to catch their flights, not be late......no sense of speed what so ever. She forgets to put food orders in, then when she does is reminded by the only cook that 1/2 the menu isn't offered, so then she has to come back to the table to let us know. Food is HORRIBLE! Since we could only order of 1/2 the menu, we had the caprese flat bread, it was burnt & the chicken was cubed, & didn't taste like chicken. This place is great for DRINKING ONLY! Save your hard earned $$ & bring your own food to...
