Normally, I try my best to do only positive reviews and if I am not satisfied with something, I discuss it with the establishment. In this case, I felt the establishment did not think anything was wrong. Let me start with the positive: the lady that took my order over the phone prior to us arriving for pickup was extremely nice . 10/10 for customer service over the phone. However, once we got to the restaurant, I went in to grab my order. One order was a catfish sandwich...that sandwich had bread...a large fried (overly salty) catfish....and thats it. there was no tarter sauce...no nothing else . just a catfish put on top of a bun and thats all. when I asked where the tarter sauce was, the response was, " oh did you want tarter sauce? " I dont know any place that gives fish sandwiches without tarter sauce...on top of that...their menu clearly states tarter sauce. we had a pitchfork burger that we requested to be done medium, and it was over cooked. another sandwich we ordered was missing items that were stated on the menu. I stayed calm and tried my best to explain that items were missing....oh we also ordered ranch and that wasn't given...I just left it at , its ok things happen. just give me the stuff on the side. when I got to the car...I was so disappointed. this has got to the the worst tasting food we had. we had 3 different items and all were extremely salty ...not tasty at all. I read a few reviews prior to going here saying the price isn't worth the food...but I wish people has been honest about that they meant....the food does not taste good. we go to restaurants and try different foods all the time....we review food...and post only the good. However, we drove 4 hours to this location...we waited to eat only to try out their food...and what a disappointment it was. I honestly should have stopped at Mc Donalds instead of this place. I truly apologize that I had to write this review...however....please...your staff is great...your restaurant is very interesting...and you have a tourist attraction on your site...please talk with whoever makes your food ...reading through other posts I'm not the only one that felt the food was bad...and extremely salty. I hope you all the best and hope the quality of food and taste...

We ate here on Memorial Day around 2 or 3 o'clock, we were passing through town and the reviews were good for the most part and Casey does not have a lot of food options so we thought why not. We were seated promptly, our drink order was promptly taken, they were brought quickly. Then nothing. For 15 minutes. Our waitress came back and took our food order, there were 4 of us- my husband, 13 year old son, 10 year old daughter and myself. We all got the salad/soup/bread bar with our meal. There were 3 soups out, the loaded baked potato was wanted by 3 of my party, there was about an inch of dried soup in the pot and that was it, there was vegetable and another option, the third was also empty and dry. We asked a different waitress as we hadn't seen ours, she said she would check, we waited about 5 minutes and checked the pot- nothing, I saw our waitress and requested drink refills and info on the soup, she said she would check, 5 more minutes no refills, no soup. I tracked our waitress down again, she said she forgot about the soup but she would check right now. She brought our refills after I asked again, still no soup. There had been a heel of a bread loaf and that was it, it was never replaced while we were there. The salad bar had about 25 % of it's slots empty, we asked about it, she said they were working on it. We asked about soup, AGAIN, she then went to the kitchen and comes back to tell us they weren't replacing it, they were moving towards dinner items and the vegetable was going to be it. It would have been nice to know this an hour before. They also filled the salad bar, as we were leaving some time after we had asked. One of us has a wheat allergy, the waitress had no idea about what was/wasn't safe. We figured a burger with no bun and fries were safe, the fries have a batter on them that definitely had wheat in it. Educating your staff on food ingredients would be very wise. The food we did get to eat was ok, the service was ok- she was pleasant when we could track her down. Overall what we spent was not worth...

We stopped in on the way home from a trip with 19 students. We were recommended to go there as being the best place to eat in town by someone that mentioned she worked there and she called it a Cafe. There were only a few other tables of 2 in there at the time. The older woman at the hostess stand looked like she was simply aggravated to have people in there. She didn't welcome us or smile at all. We were lead back into a very small room. They mentioned they had a hot bar and a salad bar with soup and bread included. One was $16+ and one was $18+. A few people opted for the bar, even though it had only a few items on it. The salad bar was decent. The potato soup was okay, but lacked flavor. Some students opted to share a meal as almost everything was over 15 dollars for an entree. Some of them only got an appetizer. The server started off very efficiently, getting drinks and refills out to us. Then she disappeared for a long time. The people that had gotten the hot bar were already finished eating for over an hour before they brought the rest of the food out. As soon as she was finished with the plates I asked if she would go ahead and bring the tickets our, as we were already behind schedule. She disappeared again, then about 30 minutes later returned with our checks....adding 20% gratuity on to each bill! Then it took over 30 minutes to cash everyone out. These were teenagers that did not cause issues, did not leave a huge mess and were not needy! They did not state the gratuity on the menu and it was not mentioned at all. So basically our students got ripped off on an overpriced meal and robbed for a tip the server clearly did not deserve. I recommend visiting Casey, IL, but I Do NOT recommend this restaurant and next time we will eat downtown! We were there for...

We walked in to think that there might be a wedding time and told the hostess that there would be only two of us. She looked at her Table menu and saw that there was plenty of seating for two people or less and told us that she could see this immediately. She took us to our table and told us with the house specials were for the day and said a waitress will be right with us. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, and proceeded to ask us what we would like to drink. She also told us what the house specials were for today and proceeded to give us menus . And told us what appetizers they had for special of the day. And it happened to be a large jumbo shrimp. So we put our order in for prime rib steak that are steak cooked as ordered. She was there hand and foot make sure we had plenty of drink and see if we need anything else. I would definitely recommend this waitress by name. Of course it's the first time we went I'm sure there are plenty of other waiters and waitresses with the Saint promptness. A really laid-back place that Diane and Gary Richardson built. I would say if you ever have a chance to stop in and have dinner at this restaurant I would. I will be doing it again for sure

This gem is located in Casey, Illinois, on a functioning farm. Upon your arrival, perhaps as a recommendation from a local, hotel services, or just to see the largest pitchfork, etc., you notice a garden off to the side. A sign greets and welcomes you to stroll through. A step back in time, a small, yet beautiful garden with a pond, a sitting area. But as you follow the path, past the garden and tool sheds, it leads you around the property, opening up and unveiling the chickens, goat, and sheep that call this place home. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere is farm/stable structure with many antiques, decor, and scenery of country living. Our server was wonderful and helpful with recommendations. Appetizers are very filling. Generous portions. We definitely needed to go boxes. Burgers and salmon are wonderful options here. And the serving sizes are Generous. There is a salad bar, as well as a soup and bread station, should you choose those. I highly recommend coming here if youre passing through, visiting Casey or any local town.

We came in well before close and the host said there was plenty of time. We were seated at the absolute furthest table from the door. We ordered the salad and soup because the there were very few options and everything else was so expensive. It was ok. Everything was very sweet. 4 soup options, 2 meat and 2 veggie, but one of the meat options was empty. All the bread was gone and the server seemed put off by us requesting some. When we got our bill it was $10 more than expected. The server said the price on the menu was the lunch price, but the menu does not state that. In fact, it's separated from the lunch menu, so none of us even considered otherwise. The server was unapologetic and was just ready to go home (despite being told there was plenty of time.) We paid a whopping $55 for 3 salads. I wish we could have that time and money back. I would never eat here again. Overpriced, mediocre restaurant, but I guess the decorations are cool. This place is clearly taking advantage of tourists.
