Bodi's Java — Restaurant in Castro Valley

Ordered a couple of regular coffees politely, then asked for a restroom and the older man working there replied “no.” I walked towards the back and found out that there was a restroom and attempted to open it but it was locked. A gentleman sitting down on his laptop said I needed a key to open it so I asked the older man and said, “it’s out of order.” I then asked him why he said that there wasn’t a restroom in the beginning. He just kept shaking his head and said “the restroom is out of order” without an apology or explanation as to why he told me they don’t have a restroom. It was obvious he didn’t want me to use the restroom from the beginning. First time in the vicinity and will never go back here again. Very shady...

I would never in my life recommend this place to anyone! Absolutely horrendous customer service. My fiancé and I walked in and we were standing at the register to order two mochas. Before ordering I saw the bathroom was locked and had a sign that said “customers only.” Since we were about to spend over $10 on 2 coffees I made the assumption that we were customers and asked for a key. He said “no” and that we “didn’t want our drinks” cancelled the order and walked away before we could pay and find a different bathroom. I've passed by Bodi's Java everyday for a year always promising myself to go in and check it out. This week I finally decided to do just that. I purchased a Carmel Apple Cider for my morning hot drink and the Bacon Turkey club sandwich for lunch... when I say they both were amazing, I'm not even being dramatic.
