1604 Cantina Food Truck Park — Restaurant in Castroville

We went Sunday and we got there at 4:30 and it wasn’t packed we got front row parking but only 1/2 the trucks were open. We got cheese pizza from the pizza truck it was 5/5 for price, taste and bang for your buck.

We got 3 things from the red brisket truck we got beef brisket Mac n cheese 2/5 the brisket was good but didn’t have bbq or anything giving much flavor but there was a lot of it and the Mac was very bland and soggy, However it was a good portion for what we paid.

The white ice cream truck was a big rip off 1/5. It looked yummy but it definitely wasn’t worth $18 for a strawberry lemonade and small ice cream with the nastiest topping ever we told them cotton candy flavor idk what we got but it was so nasty that my 5 year old wouldn’t eat it. The strawberry lemonade was good but I feel like I can get a better strawberry lemonade anywhere and not pay that price. There were several other people complaining about the price of the ice cream too.

Overall the place is 5/5 it’s a fun, by the time we left it was packed. I loved the play area and I am definitely considering toys to donate to the play area because a lot of them are broken down but it’s a nice little fenced in area that I could let my daughter play in while we ate.

The bathrooms were something to talk about they were so clean, they actually had good toilet paper and they have flushing toilets.

There were workers walking around cleaning the grounds the entire time, we never seen a single bug while we were there the music was nice with good variety, lots of seating I loved the giant square side walk around the inside part of the food trucks it’s definitely a good thing for someone like myself with nerve neuropathy. Parking was easy, it was busy but I could park on the outside street. I can imagine having a hard time when it’s peak times to visit. I came on a Sunday around 6:15. There were plenty of trucks not open, unfortunately. We were there until 7:15 and those same trucks still weren’t open :( The pizza place was yummy. We paid $8 for a drink and two slices of pizza for the kids. My partner got Philly cheese steak and fries from the Philly truck, I believe his total was upwards of $20. Still delicious. I ordered from Roosters, I got a HUGE portion of chicken buffalo fries for $12. It was so good and the customer service was unmatched. People take for granted the power of someone who loves what they do, is respectful, and wants to SERVE their customers. I got a pineapple agua Fresca for $6 from the little truck in the back right hand corner and it was 🔥 I also got a $10 large Brazilian lemonade from Azul Flama. While it was delicious, I can’t justify $11 after tax, for a large drink. If you have a bigger budget I would definitely recommend the Brazilian lemonade. The lady running it was super sweet and made it fresh 😋 The stage was super cute and fun for the kids as well as the park. The park is on the small side but still functional. I saw the age limit is 12. I was just thinking it should be lowered and then add an attraction for the bigger kids maybe? There were bigger kids who were taking over the tire swing because it was the only thing for them. One thing to consider that isn’t the venues fault, is that people do leave their kids unattended in the play area despite the rules. Went here for family night and really enjoyed the drip in a cup food truck. They were so nice. I got a table close to the entrance because I came with my kids alone and they saw the toy table set up. I gave both kids 20 dollars each to spend there. I had already gotten food for the kids and set it out for them when they were ready and then I had my infant with me. I was at a table right next to the lady's stand watching both my kids look at all her stuff she had laid out. I could see the women getting mad while they looked at everything. There were atleast 10 other ppl and kids looking at this stuff. For whatever reason she decided to storm up to me while I was feeding my baby and scream at me to "get my kids out of my shop" because she didn't want them in there looking at everything. She turned around and yelled at my 8yr old and snatched my 2yr old hand. If my 2yr old didn't have a meltdown while trying to leave with nothing then I really would have went off. She wasn't worth my breath at that point. I watched 2 little girls steal from her booth while she was too busy snarling at my daughters. Karma is a bit** not only did she lose money with us, she also lost money from other kids stealing while getting mad at my girls with money ready to spend on her. If you read this ma'am here's some advice. DONT sell children toys and get mad when children get excited to look at all the children toys. You're in the wrong business.
