Though we didn’t make it to the Sunset Rooftop due to a private event, our experience a few weeks ago dining downstairs at Casilda Cocina Creativa was still unforgettable. The space itself feels intimate and alive—full of color, energy, and thoughtful design that mirrors the creativity of the menu. Having the water so close with a fresh breeze was an added bonus to the location.
The food? Exceptional. Every dish we tried was a masterful blend of tradition and innovation—rooted in Latin and Caribbean flavors but elevated with modern technique. From the first bite to the last, it was clear: the chef cooks with both passion and precision. The standouts for us were the steak risotto and the sampler, but truthfully, every plate had something memorable.
Even more impressive was the hospitality. The service team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive—graciously accommodating the rooftop change and guiding us through the menu with care.
While we were disappointed to miss the rooftop view, the flavors and experience downstairs more than made up for it. Casilda is the kind of place you remember—not just for the food, but for the feeling of being truly welcomed and well-fed in every sense of the word.
We’ll definitely be back—hopefully with a rooftop sunset next...
Read moreThe view of this place is amazing and it’s great to chill with friends or family. There’s a couple of pros and cons here.
As appetizer, the bacon onion rings were too heavy for my taste. But if you like that type of thing, it’s different and it’s good try. To drink, I had a passion fruit mojito that was very good and as an entry I had a salmon with sweet potato gnocchi and pesto. Everything looked good in my plate. My dish and drink were actually good. My only complaint on my dish is that the gnocchi started to be cloying when I was in the middle of the dish. As dessert I did enjoy the Nutella moose; the lemon dessert was too sweet for my taste.
My friend had a churrasco and mampostiao rice that was not like the PR traditional one. The rice was literally an orangey red from the sazón used. The rice taste was not good at all. Between food, desserts and drinks we did have a great time; but I would expect food to be perfect for the price of $80pp.
Another friend of mine had the mac&cheese and it was very good.
I would probably go back for the view and drinks; but would try something...
Read moreA colleague who is a local likes this place and so he treated us to a meal. The first floor was open-air, which was nice because it was a cool night with a nice breeze. The staff didn't seem to speak much english, but we had our colleague translate. Even if he wasn't present, I'm confident we dined without an issue. There was a large price range for food, ranging from ~$20 for the ropa vieja mac & cheese (which I ordered) to $115 42oz tomahawk steak. The mac & cheese portion of my order wasn't anything special as far as restaurant mac & cheeses go, but the meat and bread were excellent. I had a passionfruit mojito which was also excellent. I ordered the adios te dije for dessert, which was a mistake because it was a large dessert and I was already stuffed. The sweet potato bread had walnuts on top, which is a problem for me because I'm allergic, but I was able to pick them off and had no problems with allergic reactions. Overall the food was great, the staff excellent, and the ambiance and location...
