I like the atmosphere of Cataño; place is almost new, and I enjoyed the Ivan Robles music that bring an adult crowd which was good. HERE is the BUT Shirley our waitress a very arrogant one, she have no idea about customer service
The first floor host let us up into the second floor and instructed us to seat at any available seat. Second floor was crowded but I had luck and my first interaction with this waitress was a lecture about how clients need to announce themselves before sitting in a table; even when I was following their instructions, a bit confusing, right? . But I navigated the situation like a big girl, that go there to have fun and I let it go. But guess what? in a second intervention I catch her scolding my sis' husband because, while she was busy he went directly to the bartender to asked her to add a splash of vodka into his drink that was too juicy for his taste and them I heard her says to him “You have to go her and resolve this using her hands to say it (the bartender) because I will not be responsible for this, or will pay for it”. I was very surprised because I was under the impression that they worked at the same place, which was a restaurant where I was the customer and they the servers. Confusing again, right
She have an actitud and not in a good way; she is rough and project herself as an arrogant person.
Shirley should move her buzzkill mood to a better suitable position such as school principal where her abilities are best used. I understand the waitress job is a difficult one that everybody think can do when they actually cannot. I can confirmed that Shirley do not have the...
Read moreWhen one dines out, there is an expectation that when you pay higher costs, you will receive well prepared, higher quality meals. We certainly must have had a different chef than those offering ????? 5 stars and calling this exquisite ????? The Glazed Salmon fell into the low average category, the complementing salad was small and low average. It was not clearly stated up front, but the Mamposteo (quality less than average) was a $5 upcharge over getting Arroz y Habichuelas included with the meal. Extremely disappointing was the Mofongo Relleno with Vegetables. The Mofongo was greasy and extremely salty. After explaining this to the waitress, she offered to bring another, only to bring something out 5 minutes later that must have come from the same pre-made batch that tastes like it was not freshly made today with an extreme amount of salt. The Vegetables were not well cooked having the stale taste like that found in old frozen vegetables heated in a microwave. After some communicating with the cook they allowed for Arroz y Habichuelas to replace the vegetables. Even more disappointing was thinking they made some kind of discount only to find the up-charges and still finding the total cost extreme for a well below average meal and experience. To Top it off as Negative Star experience my Guest chose to tip 20% with my credit card... only to find a day later after reading other reviewers complaints, that the restaurant or waitress raised the tip to 30% just as they had done to others. If you Go... Watch your Tip. Better Yet... I give you my best...
Read moreI don’t usually post reviews but since this was an upsetting experience I feel like I have to warn others. The service was terrible: from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The manager had the worst attitude. I don’t recommend spending your hard earned money here. The food was horrible. We ordered a Tomahawk medium rare and it came well done so obviously we said something. They took it back and brought us a different one that was completely rare and cold which we thought was so unnecessary. This is a $120 Tomahawk. It was such a bad experience. The ticket had a $90.00 charge for a bottle of brava that we never ordered. If you come here (hopefully not) remember to double check your ticket. Pésimo...
