I'm sorry, but the truth must be told. I was waiting to get this particular review. I must say, I was totally disappointed. I can't believe they charged me $30 for a seafood paella to my estimation, wasnt even close to a paella at all. It was mainly rice. Two shrimps. One little clam the size of a half a dollar. One mussel. Amazing nonsense. The calamari, they were not even soft enough to chew. This was a total insult to my intelligence!!!! Really. I know what a frickin paella looks like. This paella was the worse I've ever seen since God knows when. For $30? Not even worth it. Next time you serve a paella in this fashion, I recommend charge at least $10. I demand a reinbursement. The wine was good, that I can say. The waiter gave us an explanation as to why my paella was the way it was. Honestly, the waiter should at least, take it back and add more seafood. Make it look like a real paella next time, if you are still planning to charge $30 to the next person. I provided few pictures to perfectly demonstrate how much seafood there was. Enjoy

Out front, you have 2 menus. It's not what it seems. One restaurant (Tello Mex) is upstairs, and Don Tello is on the ground level. When we scanned the QR code, the website was down. You don't have physical menus? That's a loss. And what's with the chain across the entryway? Do you not want customers to feel invited? Half our party wanted stuff from the Tello Mex menu. How's this for a business proposition.: Share the restaurant with both kitchens. Give groups the option of ordering from either menu. If your ticket system doesn't work with that concept, update it. And for the love of customers, lose the chain!

The food is good a bit expensive but the amount served will make you feel better, Yolanda, the bartender is awesome, the Don Q mojitos are very good, Any sampler will work for 2 or 8 people depending on your order, and any stuffed mofongos is a must. The view and the atmosphere are beyond any expectations. Also, there is a ferry from the old city (viejo San Juan to Cataño)to this area. As usual, be aware at night time and don't be flashy or disrespectful to any local. Self parking and pay parking are available, but they get full fast.

Horrible experience. We sat down server took our drinks, and appetizers and when she came back we told her we were ready to order. She told us that she was going on break and someone would come and take our order. Twenty minutes pass by and I have to stand and ask one one of the servers there who would take our order because we had been waiting a long time. She told another server and she came around five minutes later and was rude, she took our order and order some drinks the drinks never got to the table. Food came to the table about an hour and 45 minutes after our arrival to the restaurant. The portion size was very small, specifically for the price. I order Chuleta Can Can and it was so dried and hard, the oder plates took 10 minutes after I had my plate. The paellas were good (we ordered 2 - Don tello paella and marine paella). The last item to arrive was the chicken cordon blue that came after we were all dome eating. The server ask how was everything and my cousin told her that everything was bad, everyone got food at different intervals, food was bland, and portions for the side was extremely small. The service was worst, no one apologized for the long waits or the terrible service. No one came to check at the table or refill drinks. The staff need training, the kitchen needs some seasoning and coordination. I would give this restaurant 0 starts...

Quite the unfortunate experience. If you don't want to read this long review here's a short summary / TL;DR: lengthy wait time, incorrect order, greasy food, billed for items/food we didn't receive, and even asked for a 5$ Tip (very awkward). If you're still reading then you must be curious what happened, continue to read for more details.

We waited for 20-30mins to place our orders, my girlfriend was given the wrong order (Fried Calamari instead of Octopus Empanadas) and I never received my 2nd order (Cayuco) and her mothers order was Very oily (Fried Pork and Monfogo), we waited for her original order after an hour. We decided to just pay the bill instead of waiting even longer and they charged us for food we never received (the Cayuco and Octopus Empanadas), even worse they had the audacity to ask for a $5 tip after everything. Lol Possibly the worst service I've ever experienced and I wish I was exaggerating...Amazing experience. You can eat here if you want, just be weary.

PS. My girlfriend and her mother are locals in the area and speak Spanish well. There was no miscommunication with what we ordered and we verified with the servers...

Why do people even recommend this place?? Let me tell ya', it took 3 hours for my group to get their food, and there was barely anyone else in the restaurant but us!! 20 minutes of sitting at a table with no utensils, no salt, no pepper, and no napkins, until our drink orders were written down. After a lovely 30 minutes of waiting for our drinks, we finally got 2 out of the 20 we ordered. 15 minutes afterwards, everyone else was served their drinks. After drinking for 45 minutes, trying to save any last drop, we were able to order our food. Finally, once we hit the 2 hour mark, 12 cheese-sticks came out. Another 30 minutes later, almost everyone else's food came out. I say "almost" because this poor girl in our group didn't get her food until 3 hours hit. And the worst thing is, once we got our food, it was mediocre. It wasn't even worth the wait. I could have made better cheese-sticks in my own microwave. Plus, the girl who waited 3 hours for her food got a grey, greasy, "steak" that was probably dipped in a gravel & glue sauce. So yeah, 3 hours of fun-loving times...
