Forgot to write a review from a month ago when they first opened. The food was very filling and the atmosphere felt like a cozy home. All their meals had that homemade touch and would recommend them for anyone trying out Korean food for the first time. The server will for sure run down the whole menu and any questions you may have about it. I'm glad the tteokbokki is americanized as to where it's not overly spicy like in Korea but still has a nice kick to it (loved it). When I went they didn't have the corn dogs but hopefully they add it to the menu as an appetizer since I do think that would be a nice little extra option. Even any of the seasonal street food would be a nice addition like hotteok, gyeranppang (I think that's how it's spelled), odeng, and tteok. 10/10 again would recommend going for a meal or even a quick snack.
Pictured is the C3 combo of tteokbokki with tuna kimbap and what's left of the mandu appetizer. It was a chill sober kind of day so we had water instead of soju, we would've...
Read moreIt's great to have a good Korean place in town again. I am certainly not an expert on Korean cuisine, but I was a big fan of K-Tofu House in Rancho Mirage before they closed.
This was my first visit so I can't speak as to the consistency of the food, but the items I had were tasty. I miss having slightly more variety to the various side dishes (kimchee) but the two that were served, picked yellow radish and traditional cabbage kimchee, were excellent, and I had three servings of each.
Korean food isn't for every palate because it tends towards bitter, acidic, fermented flavors, but if you like that sort of flavor profile you'll enjoy this place. It certainly seems a lot more successful than the two restaurants that were here before it. I think it might become popular enough that it becomes limited a little bit by the small dining room. I envision these folks perhaps having to move to a larger building one...
Read moreOverrated and disappointing. Kimbap was mushy and sticky felt like it was made with rice that had too much water. There was way too much rice compared to the fillings. It honestly felt like we were just eating seaweed and undercooked rice. Not worth almost $10 after tax.
The donkatsu with curry was even worse. The pork was small, thin. The curry tasted powdery and undercooked. super runny, with just a few chunks of carrot and potato. Flavorless and lazy.
Everything is overpriced for the portion and quality.
As a Korean, I wouldn’t call this place authentic. Only decent dish was the kimchi fried rice, but even that was overly salty and heavy on gochujang.
I've run a successful restaurant before I know what I’m talking...
