THERE'S A NEW KID IN TOWN!!! 💃It's called El Acapulco. My mom & I went there on a Saturday evening to eat dinner. Wondering what the new kid was up to we decided to test the waters. Rest assured we were NOT disappointed. Firstly, we received a healthy offering of chips & salsa. The salsa was served in individual serving dishes. Forget about double dipping; it would be a LOT HARDER to get by with. Checking out the menu I observed a wide variety of Mexican style food. They have a modest sized VEGETARIAN section if you're in the mood for that type of meal. I ordered a 12 inch beef El Acapulco chimichanga; it starts out as a 12 inch tortilla folded over with the ends tucked in to hold in the meat. It was served very promptly, piping hot, smothered in melted white cheese. Man what a meal!!! I ate the ENTIRE thing & boy was I STUFFED!!! Mom ordered Taquitos Mexicanos; she certainly wasn't disappointed either. Please see the pictures of the 2 dinners I posted. They have a really good menu selection as well, you won't be disappointed. The service is really good; you can tell they're new to this but they've got their hearts in it for sure. The internal decor is stylish if not a bit unusual; haven't seen anything like it around here before. The building is very clean, well maintained, the floors were clean & well maintained, the restroom was very clean, no objectionable odors were noted. The staff quickly bussed the tables sanitizing the table tops & the seats too. These folks looked like they are trying VERY HARD to make this work. I sincerely hope you'll support them in their efforts. REST ASSURED I AND MY FAMILY WILL. THUS IS A RECOMMENDED DINING EXPERIENCE if you like Mexican style food. NOTE: I've been seeing a sizeable number of cars in the parking lot around meal times. I believe word is starting...
Read moreTo be clear, this is NOT the best Mexican food I've ever had. That said, I was shocked by how good it was considering we were in the middle of Kentucky. The atmosphere reminded me of a touristy Mexican restaurant, lots of bright colors, papel picado streamers hung from the ceiling and the like. The chips and salsa were a little on the bland side, but that's not what we were there for. I was astounded to see quesabirria and al pastor tacos on the menu. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and a large horchata. The food came quickly enough and was reasonably hot. The birria was juicy and flavorful and the beans and rice were awesome. My only real complaint about the food was the birria could have been shredded a little more. Other than that, spot on! The horchata was served in a comically large frosted mug and was pretty good, if not just a tad too sweet. I do like my horchata sweet but this was a little much for me. All in all, it was a surprisingly good experience for being in...
Read moreBest Mexican restaurant within 100 miles!!! The staff is amazing, so polite and welcoming great service. Beans and rice, chunky guacamole, cheese enchiladas were all amazing!! And the steak is perfect angus steak cooked better than a steak house! Coronarita was perfect!!! I can't explain just how perfect this food is. I live locally about 30 minutes away, we pass several mexican resturants just to dine here because it is hands down and up better than any other restaurant!! And the PICKLES!!! Do yourself a favor, (i know this sounds weird) but ask for some pickles!! You will be so glad you did. A shot of tequila goes with the pickles perfectly!! Just an amazing place to eat!! I highly recommend!!
