Absolutely wonderful new coffee shop that breathes new life into old downtown Cayce.
In the amount of time I've been coming here, it's very clear that this place is run by people who legitimately love coffee. A very minimal, yet comfortable space, a simple menu that is fairly-priced, and absolute perfection in all things coffee.
It's my personal favorite, but the espresso would rate this place five stars on it's own. Dark, hot, and wonderful in every way I've tried it. Decaf espresso was available too, and my partner that loves coffee but is trying to limit caffeine was very grateful.
The folks running the show behind the counter are incredibly friendly and quick. I can park, walk in, and grab a cappuccino on my way to work in about five minutes. They have plenty of seating too, if you're in the mood to enjoy your coffee slowly. (As a note, there a few drinks available aren't currently on the menu behind the counter. If you're looking for a style of drink that isn't shown, just ask!)
My reccomendation? Come early if you want a fresh pastry, order a cortado or a cappuccino to suit your mood, grab a bar seat looking out the massive front window, and enjoy a few moments of blissfully satisfying...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for a while now and I love their coffee and the atmosphere and their baked goods. This is probably my favorite local coffee shop, especially when I need to get some work done. But I’ve never written a review for this place until now. I actually normally don’t write reviews at all, but I simply had to leave a review today because of the bagel I purchased this morning. This bagel was the sea salt bagel and i ate it with their sun dried tomato cream cheese. Now listen, bagels are great. I love a good bagel. But ordinarily I’m not really a HUGE bagel person. In fact, I only bought this bagel today bc they were out of overnight oats. But this bagel??? I knew after one single bite that this was the greatest bagel I have ever had in my life. I am not kidding. It was perfectly salty, perfectly flavorful, and I love sun dried tomatoes, so that cream cheese? 10/10. I will be thinking about this bagel for the rest of my life. I WILL be ordering it again. Hence this review. So anyway: I highly recommend Piecewise for the coffee, the vibes, and now, most importantly, the...
Read moreNew age coffee shop angled towards a younger people with indie music playing and a clean atmosphere - has everything you would expect and the staff was friendly. 5 stars.
3 ideas for improvement:
I thought that the iced coffee was a little watery. I like my coffee really strong, so maybe it was me, but there was a lot of ice in the drink as well compounding the problem. It could have just been what I ordered though, so it’s not a big knock.
There was a few flies that were buzzing around my head when I was trying to study, which just prompts me to leave earlier. Maybe you could look at the cost associated with installing a fly fan near the door?
I hate these chairs/stools, they’re not comfortable at all. The more cozy I am, the more likely I am to stay and buy more coffee/pastries. They’ve literally proliferated all the newish establishments opened including Publico and Kao Thai Cuisine.
That’s it, we’ll be back, and we’ll recommend to friends. I’ll update the review also if anything changes. Good job on creating a good atmosphere /...
