As a person who used to work at a Dairy Queen, I was going in to this experience a little hyper-critical. However, the experience I had surpassed my expectations.
When I arrived, the location was very clean and tidy, which is always a plus for any experience. Also, the staff was very on top of keeping the tables stocked and cleaned as people left. One interesting touch that I haven't seen at other Dairy Queen locations or even fast food restaurants is that they had salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard stocked at every table. That is a nice touch instead of having to hunt down packets or even go to the counter and make a request.
Ordering my food was quick and easy, and the staff was very friendly with getting my order together. I received my cup, got a number tag for my table, and once I filled my cup and sat down at a table I only waited about 2 minutes, if that, until I got my food. When i got my food I was surprised. I was always used to being handed a wrapped burger and a carton of fries, but instead I received a paper tray. My fries and burger in the tray. The appearance of it felt more like a formal restaurant. I liked that touch because that way my burger wasn't smooshed in order fit in the paper wrapping that other places have (though I'm certain that if I had ordered my food to go it would be wrapped, which is fine).
Not only was the appearance very good, but the quality of food and taste was far better then I remember! I got the Flamethrower burger, and I've always been used to the Flamethrower sauce not having much flavor other then just hot. But to my surprise, this burger had a ton of flavor! The patties were moist, the lettuce was crisp, tomatoes are disgusting so that was promptly removed, and the sauce seems to have been reworked by DQ because it had a fantastic taste to it! The fries, they were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. They had a prefect golden color to them, and a marvelous taste. Dunking them in fry sauce only added to my euphoric fry experience.
Overall, my visit to this DQ was a lot better than I thought it would go. I was very pleased with the whole thing and do plan on going back when I can. I hope that the ice cream and service live up to it's name. When I get ice cream I plan on revising my review. Until then, easily a 5...
Read moreI have always loved this DQ even driving across town to go to this one even though living next to the other one. But the last 2 times i recieved terrible service. First the item i always order every time i go the new staff refused to make it. I asked her to please check with the manager or other stuff about making it the way i like it and have been ordering it twice a week for the past several years but after several minutes she absolutly refused to check and rudly said i was wrong and they cant do it. A month later i went back and got the same person at the order window. After paying out of boredom i watched 2 youtube video's waiting for my food. One video was 9 minutes and the other was 17 minutes long. The entire time i could see in the window she was giggling laughing and enjoying in conversation with other staff customers while behind me other people in kine started honking at me as ive now been in the drive through for over 45 minutes total. I thought "okay i recieved my burger in the first couple of minutes, and been at the window now for just over 25 minutes with out any contact. How long does it really take to make a large oreo blizzard and large banana shake?" so i said okay then. I tried to get her attention and she looked over at me onky to look back and continue her conversation so i left. This was 3 to 4ag weeks ago. On a saterday night. I have no plans on ever going back but i am rating them on 4/5 stars because of the many years of constant fast and amazing service. Several of the staff even recognized my voice and ask same as always? Which made me feel vary happy and welcome i thought about calling the manager the next day but i need to cut down on my banana shakes anyways so this was a good...
Read moreI have been a huge supporter and frequent Dairy Queen at least two times per week on average. I live off 200 north so the Dairy Queen in the Chevron has been a huge convenience to go through the drive thru. In the past few months, my husband and I have noticed the lack of interest from the staff , especially in the evening times, the horse play, orders messed up, and most recently a male staff arguing over a sundae with me. I ordered a large hot fudge sundae with nuts and whipped cream. When the drive thru helper tried to hand it out the window to me, I noticed there was no nuts and whipped cream. I then reminded the young man at the window, the order was supposed to have nuts and whipped cream. He then argued with me that it doesn’t come that way. I said , I know that’s why I asked for nuts and whipped cream. The drive thru worker took it back and nuts and whipped cream was thrown on it and it was then handed out the window. The ice cream was not damaged in anyway, but it was not an effort I would have liked to pay for in the future. It saddens me as I have been a huge customer of theirs here in Cedar City for over 30 plus years. With the constant horse play from the staff and not caring about orders, as this was not their first mess up, several times, I will be staying away from Dairy Queen for...
