After reading the dead reviews I had to come check out the birria tacos!! I hate to leave such a negative review since so many people love this place but the tacos weren't any good. Greasy, very soggy and the consume was literally HALF grease.. usually the grease is skimmed to fry the tacos with and we're left with the broth to dip and drink. The meat was plain , I've never experienced that with birria:/ perhaps I ordered the wrong item considering the raving reviews before mine but if you're looking for authentic birria, I'm sorry this isn't it.
This spot is a gem. I got two types of tacos which were al pastor and the one with carne mixed with nopales. I will say that this place is a little pricey at 3.50 cents a taco. I spent over 16 dollars for four tacos and no drink. the food was GOOD. You will get asked if you want corn or flour tortillas. I went for the corn and these suckers are handmade! The tortilla is sturdy and not too thick. They come with a nice amount of onion and cilantro. It would be nice to have a couple of more like wedges and perhaps one more potato thrown in there. Once I bit into this taco, the flavor was all there and the taco was piping hot! Yes, I do feel it’s a tad pricey, but these tacos are not small by any means! I am excited to come back as the menu is extensive and I am so curious about the breakfast, platters, and quesa birria. the food truck is colorful and an easy place to find. It has a covering so you are not in the sun as you wait to order. There are a few tables with umbrellas and several patio chairs that you can sit in as you wait for your order. They take cash or card and give you one of those little beeper discs to notify you when your order is ready.
Overall, I do recommend you visit this small business and enjoy some...
Read moreAfter passing El tacón madre up the street multiple times and wanting pull in. Today, I decided to look at the map to see the menu and reviews and go unknowingly. I was looking at this place. I figured this out after my parents wanted to go out and wanted the address for the taco place. I saw it was the wrong location, so just so I could experience both and compare we went here the oder came out to 60 something ish dollars for 3 people. My mom got a beef burrito, my dad got a fish and shrimp taco, and i got 2 barria and al pastor tacos( same items i ordered at El tacón madre), and finally nachos picadillo to share. For me, the food was a 5/10 for my parents it was maybe a little lower my dad said " the fish taco at golden coral was better , but the shrimp was good and if he came back he would get 2 shrimp but that IF he came back", and the ordering lady constantly kept asking if we were done as I was putting the order in and checking to see if everything was correct and ask corn or flower. To me, when the other location is up the street, why go here for some mid tacos at best and an unpleasant experience when the other taco spot...
