Casey's — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

This is the first time and probably the last time I will go to a Casey’s Truck Stop. Food was good and made to order (BLT Sub). Laundry is the normal $2.25 to wash laundry. To dry laundry is .25 to start the machine, which I think is a better deal as long as you don’t have much cloths to dry. There is a change machine for $1,$5,$10 to give you quarters for laundry. Nice little cart that rolls around like you would find at laundry mats to take your stuff from the dryer to the table where you can fold your cloths. A lot of truck parking (no reserved) but alot of dropped trailers and day an drivers leaving their vehicles here to go home which takes away from over the road drivers that actually NEED the parking. Now for the showers, they are cheap at $8.00 compared to Pilot which is between $12-14. They take your ID as “collateral” and give you a key for the shower, but have keypads next to the doors that don’t seem to work. Small showers not even big enough or wheelchair accessible. Dirty trash can with Q-Tips from the last several people. They give you towels and a wash cloth that are really only good for the floor. Better off using your own shower towel. ZERO SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER, BODY WASH AT ALL! I like standing under the hot water for my back issues and the shower I was in (5) flooded and didn’t drain properly. The pizza is the main reason I go to Casey's which it didn't disappoint here. The bathrooms weren't nearly as dirty as some of the locations I've been to with truck parking. Today was the first and probably the last time I take a shower at Casey's unless I have my own towels next time because the towels/wash cloth I got smelled like some kind of gear oil or something I dapped drying off trying to prevent the smell from getting onto me then used a thermal shirt I had in my bag to dry off my hair. I'm not sure how anyone here can't smell the odor on the towels I smelled it while I was using the bathroom in the shower but it came and went so I thought maybe it's just something in the floor drain til I smelled the wash cloth before washing which I immediately threw on the floor and just used my loofas to wash off. $8 Showers at kwik star are better than the ones here but according to the reviews that kwik star didn't have showers and now I know why the other review was talking about the towels being bad here but I really needed a shower and didn't have any credits left at pilot which is more expensive but probably would have been worth the extra in...

2021-07-17: Casey’s! Thank you for responding my review within few hour from the time I posted it . That tells me something. It tells me that this facility is REALLY well -managed. And it well trained front facing army of staff. VERY GOOD! Keep up the good work. And as I promised I upgraded my review from 3* to 5*. —————————————————————-

The only issue is some of the showers are broken to the point the water is coming out like a normal facet “the from piece is missing and no soap. I was not happy with this shower at all. Plus the young lady on the counter she knew that this shower is broken and she STILL send me the broken shower. They had other showers available.
