The workers here always fail to make me feel welcomed or leave with a good taste in my mouth. Not only is their way of "greeting" an annoyed Inconvient-like welcome, but rarely do I even hear thank you or anything slightly above the most minimum customer service. I now dread coming to this DQ (the closets one to me) because I know how my entire visit there is going to go, and unfortunately its a usual outing for me and my family. Although there are a few older women who work here, the entire group of employees I encounter act similar to a high school cliche of snobby rude teens. all of these women old or young surpass the age of acting in this apauling snarky manor. Everyone should know how to treat a Customer at this Dairy Queen. People come there all day to enjoy the season and it's a well known thing to do in my area of Cedar Rapids. These women or girls should not be acting as tho we interrupted their texting nor make you feel bad for having them do work. I swear I'm one rolling of the eyes or a no "thank you" away from really figuring out the next step to get whoever is in charge to step it up! Like who is evaluating these employees? I don't know if they are all too comfortable or bored with their job there that they want to make costomers feel and leave with the same negativity they seem to have 100% of the time, but i and a lot of other regulars, are just sick of it. I just want to go get my favorite ice cream and not have to question whether they would purposely mess with my drink, not get the feeling they are going to talk about me as I leave, and most fu**g importantly be greeted with the worlds easiest customer service tactic: A SMILE. I have never onced complain here only have slightly shown my frustration through looks, so I know comfortably there is nothing I could do as a customer to change...
Read moreThis location has become a running joke in our family because they always pretend they are closed well before they are actually closed every night. They turn all the lights off and pretend they aren’t open about an hour before they actually close. It’s the middle of summer and tonight we arrived 20 minutes before close. They were actively making ice cream for a few people who had already paid and were waiting. All the lights off, even the interior and they told the family in front of us as we arrived they had to close early because they were “short staffed,” even though there were multiple people inside actively making ice cream and cleaning. It’s beyond hilarious how the owners and staff clearly do not care about running a business. Pick another location if you actually...
Read moreI went to this particular Dairy Queen so my friend could get a triple berry smoothie for her daughter. The staff were friendly enough - but on 6/27/2020, with our nation and the Cedar Rapids metro area still concerned about COVID-19, NONE OF THEM WORE MASK OR GLOVES!! Not the cashier and more importantly, not the people making the treats. I watched through the side window as one employee held crumbles of Blizzard ingredients on the spoon with her UNGLOVED hand as she scooped. Wish I'd had my phone in my pocket to take a picture for proof. SO DISAPPOINTED, and I'll be avoiding this location in the...
