Great food, even better people
I worked at this restaurant as a cook for 2 years, and I was the general manager for 2 1/2 years, but I speak with no bias when I tell people what a great experience Flavors provides. I ate here consistently for my entire career and if you know anyone who works in food service, they will tell you how rare that is. In most places employees get sick of the food after some time, but the menu at Flavors is so diverse and healthy, that never happened to me. Oh, and when they ask if you want extra “house sauce” say yes!! All of the regulars love it, and trust me, you will want extra hahaha Even better, Flavors is a family-run, small local business and that is why you get a level of service here that you could never expect from the major food franchises. I worked closely with the Schell family for years, and they are all great people. Running a small business can be very difficult, and even when times were hard, Steve Schell (the owner) always made sure that the employees were paid first and that we were all taken care of. His daughter Renee is probably the hardest working person I’ve ever met, and I absolutely could not have managed the restaurant without her support. The current manager Ric is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, and he is always building excellent relationships with all of the customers. All in all, I want to thank the Schell family for all the great years I spent working here, and I hope everyone in the staff is doing well. I also hope I’ve encouraged anyone reading this to give this “diamond in the rough” a try, you truly will not find a more unique experience...
Read moreSadly, my review will not be a good one. My husband and I used to frequent Flavors a few years back when Elaine and Rich were owners. They were so fun to talk to while we enjoyed their awesome meals. Their salads were super fresh and contained unique vegetables and beans. The chicken sub was delicious and their red cream soda was something we would travel across town for! Over the years since, we have tried Flavors again. The service has always been slow but the food was good. The owner told us that they no longer have fountain soda. Then after the past couple times we ordered, we were just sadly disappointed. I saw a girl make my salad from a bagged salad mix straight from the bag (meaning no washing of the vegetables probably occured.) It was only basic vegetables, and the portion was small. The chicken sub was not as loaded with ingredients and to top it off...my cream soda was a can of BIG K brand from Kroger. We probably will not return to Flavors. We were sorry to see this...
Read moreI tried Flavors eatery about two weeks ago. I’ve been back two times since! The food is delicious and I just can’t get enough. At times the service can be a little slow but I assure you it’s worth the wait. Another great aspect is when I have left overs and heat it in the oven it tastes just as good. The last time I was in I was picking up my order and had made a comment about being tired to the cashier. She told me I looked tired and I said well you know single motherhood. I walk out to my car to leave and she comes running out. I figured I had forgotten something. She then hands me a $20 bill and said today your lunch is on me. My lunch was only $12. I was so taken aback by this act of kindness, and honestly it was just what I needed. I needed to know their are still good people in this world. So not only is the food amazing, the staff are good kind people. Thank you to the blonde cashier for making my day. I’ll probably be back tomorrow bc I just...
