Upon arrival there was one other customer eating, the remainder of the restaurant was empty. Through our time (an hour) being there two other tables arrived with a total of 3 additional people. The waitress was more concerned with sitting down and eating than tending to customers. Of the 3 people sitting at my table, we all had empty cups and we're never offered more drinks or refills. After asking for utensils and soy sauce when ordering, we had to go to another table to get chopsticks and soy sauce after our food had arrived. There was no attentiveness to the quality or consistency of food we ordered. We got two miso soups which were good, as well as a salmon roll, tuna roll and Nagoya sashimi plate. The salmon and tuna rolls took roughly 15-20 minutes to arrive at our table which normally would not be an issue at a sushi restaurant, however the sushi chef prepared the waitress/kitchen staff food prior to ours and at this time there were no other customers yet. These two rolls were very inconsistent in terms of the amount of fish used, which was very minimal, they were mostly rice. Between the rolls and sashimi the fish did not taste fresh, and did not live up to the amount charged for it. The wasabi had no taste to it, only a gritty consistency. The staff were in the dining area constantly talking about a problem customer with a to-go order, which is extremely unprofessional. Also, we informed the waitress that we never received the salad that was supposed to come with our Nagoya sashimi plate, but at this point we had been there an hour and did not wish to wait more time for it. It was not removed from our ticket, and we ended up leaving without it. After an hour, we had spent $60 and left still feeling hungry. Would not recommend dining in or taking out from this restaurant. Service, food quality, and atmosphere were...
Read moreWhen we first walked into the restaurant, we were not greeted, just stared at by two men behind the counter. After 2 minutes of awkward staring, another man came up and asked âhow many?â (Not hello, not how are you...). We were a party of 5 (husband and I & 3 kids). We were seated, but I had to clean the chairs off myself because there was rice all over them. My husband had a question about what was in a certain sushi roll, and the waitress could not tell us, seemed to get frustrated that we were even asking a question, and offered to come back in a few minutes for us to âbe ready.â After that weirdness, we ordered and food did come quickly, but it was odd that we had to ask for utensils. She told us she brings it out when the food comes, like it was their way, which would be fine except the other tables around us were already set up with utensils and no one was sitting there. The food did taste great, definitely not high end sushi, but good. The kidâs menu was a bit pricey and I feel there should be at least one green vegetable offered on the kidâs menu, but that is just me. The music was worldly, which I would have just ignored, however, when explicit curse words were being sung in a song, I asked the lady to please turn that off or change it. It took quite a while for her to do whatever she did, but I think she just turned it down. After that, they seemed to rush us to leave and didnât even offer us the dessert options even though I heard them offer to other people in the restaurant. I would say this is NOT a family-friendly place. The only plus side to the to-go plates and bowls everything was brought in was that it was easier and faster to pack up the kidsâ...
Read moreHad lunch there today. The food was fine, but it wasnât the best experience. First of all, they have a lunch menu taped to their menus. Half of my party planned to order from it, and then when we started to order, our server informed us we couldnât order lunch on Sundays. Why isnât that written on the menu?
Secondly, I ordered a sushi roll and a SIDE order of teriyaki chicken ($8.95, which is ridiculous). When a hibachi teriyaki chicken plate (chicken, broccoli, and rice) arrived, the server told me it was mine. I said, âI ordered a side of teriyaki chicken,â and she told me she knew, but she put in the hibachi plate for me because âthe side is just a little bit.â I told her I know, I only wanted a little bit. But she tried to charge me for the hibachi plate ($11.95) anyway, even though I didnât order it, nor did I get the soup that comes with it. When I argued the price, she argued that the side âis just a little bit,â and I had to say âI KNOW, THATâS WHY I ORDERED IT.â Eventually she corrected my bill.
I do not plan to return to this store if theyâre going to try to trick me into spending even more...
