Phone orders are not their specialty. I was put on hold and forgot about for 15 minutes. Long enough to drive over there to place my order. When I arrived I let the cashier listen to the conversations I was hearing from the counter. She was shocked to see I had been holding that long. I explained I had been holding long enough to drive there to place the order. Could not call in on another phone. And she did not look surprised. Asked for a manager who apparently just had a hard morning. And he was very matter a fact. Yes you were on hold for 15 minutes. Would you like to place your order. No apology no concern his employees are leaving phone orders to sit until they hang up. Now you must ask your self would you spend your money here? So I said no. He walked away and of course I had to start filming the mess I could see from the counter. OMG you would have thought I brought out a shot gun. Every employee stopped and started screaming put that camera away Although none of them could answer a phone call. Well its legal to film until asked to quit. So I stopped. This was not good enough for the manager who now had time for an unhappy customer. He quickly pretended to call the police. and escort me to my car. Read moreThis is a first for me because most of the Denny's around the California area are usually pretty decent, but this place was just plain awful. I decided to take my family here for lunch one day and it started out nice, waiter was polite, showed off some of the new seasonal dishes and served us our drinks. We ordered and everything was going great, but when our food came, everything went downhill from there. Our appetizer was a complete mess, the chicken tenders were dark brown and hard, the mozzarella sticks cheese was spread over the bottom of the dish leaving pretty much hollow stick shells for us to eat. Our breakfast meals were probably the worse though, most of the food was cold, hard biscuits with gravy, and the pancakes were burnt and crunchy (a first for me because the pancakes are the one thing I look forward to at a Denny's). When we went to complain our waiter managed to replace our appetizer with a fresh batch, meal wise we had to ask the cashier to speak to someone because the waiter seemed to forget about us over time and appeared more preoccupied with other customers, even after we asked for drink refills and some extra sauces for our new appetizer (pretty much ignored). Manager had an attitude, but was willing to take 10% off our bill (2 to 3 bucks off the bill) and replaced one of my family member's pancake order. Asked for drink refills again and such, waiter never came by and went about helping the people across from us instead. Overall, the customer service was very poor here and any sign of trouble leads to the staff trying to avoid you. Definitely won't be eating here again...
Read moreI chose this Denny's and another Denny's location because they both are on my route to and from work. I live in Atwater, but Denny's there is stuck with a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off and that also includes the general manager who threatened me by telling I won't get my refund unless I go through her to get it. Btw, I got it through Corp HQ. Now, this particular Denny's in Ceres on Herndon Ave , was one of my alternatives. The atmosphere is friendly , the staff is friendly but the cook? He or she can't count to 8. Ive ordered 8 sausages almost every time I ordered, I received 4, I received 5 and now I just received 7 - after mgr told me there were 8 sausages. So unfortunately, another Denny's has joined the drop list that had only included Atwater Denny's . It might sound petty , but look at it this way, if you spend a certain amount to receive a certain amount and the amount of food you are spending your money on isn't there, then I'm more than positive you would be as frustrated as I am and that also includes the last 3 orders within the last 3 months. So, if you decide to go to this Denny's , and you are picking up your order, check to see if everything is there because the cook evidentially...
