Surawon Korean BBQ — Restaurant in Cerritos

This place honestly went bad when i first started going with friends they were so polite and attend us well, well within time they became more and more less caring a month ago is when it all started the first time i felt like i was forced to leave a tip the lady that charged us kept telling me why wasn't i leaving a tip for the worker let's take a second to think they already charge a their own tip once you go with more more than 5/6 people don't quite remember because they changed it it was 8 of us so why do we have to leave another extra tip that same day i was also mad because that'd when the vad attending happened we stayed with a burning grill for about 20 min we had no food at all which is not ok we are paying so we should be attended properly that got me mad because they already charged a tip she made me look like a stingy type of guy because i wouldn't leave a tip there was people waitting to pay so yeah people were seeing her forcing me to leave a tip type situation, second time we were waitting we were called up next she started rushing us to hurry up we were trying to sit with our dates, nooooooo the mean looking lady started screaming for us to hurry up amd when we would try to rearrange eachother she wouldn't let us finish out sentences we felt so bothered we said we weren't going anymore to this place that was the most disrespectful thing i ever witnessed in a restaraunts that we became very well comfort to we always went so we thought we desevebmore then to just be yelled at like that and well finally after a month we decided we could go again it's a saturday night they close late so let's go we got there they sat us in the corner all the way in the back where no one can see us this day was also really bad service we didn't get fed about 25 min we had no food and no water for that long and when they woul come with our stuff nothing was complete as we ordered i love my brisket with rice paper so i always ask for both at the same time he would always forget one of the other we have been patient with this restaurant we always left tips if treated properly but in honesty Mr. Lees is where we are at now they come and check on us every 3/4 minutes nothing ever goes missing it all comes done right they don't wait for us to ask for something and really organized place that's why i rated this place a one star they have been bad...

Not a bad place to eat KBBQ but there are definitely better places to choose from in the immediate area. Perhaps the most alluring thing about this place was the prices. They are somewhat cheaper than other KBBQs and that is about it.

We were seated very quickly since the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived. Though there were not many people there, the service was still quite slow. We had to continuously flag down anyone we could to have sides and meat brought to the table. Bear in mind, there are only three workers in this entire establishment, at least for the front of the house. The old korean couple, who I assume own the joint and a young server who seems overwhelmed much of the time.

The place itself looked clean enough but according to my friends, the bathroom was a nightmare. I did not check it out myself but was a bit concerned, as I have always been under the impression that the kitchen is likely just as clean as the restrooms.

The food was very average. The thing that I liked most was probably the beef belly but sadly, we ordered this towards the end so I did not get to have much of it. I was not the biggest fan of the brisket, no matter how long it was cooked, it always tasted very rubbery.

One thing I want to note that was funny to me is that none of the fans in the restaurant were on. Instead, the front doors are wide open, as was the side door by where we were seated. As a result, it is a little...

Horrible, discriminatory practices at this establishment....if you can call it that. The short lady and her daughter served my family of 3 ( including my 10 month old who shouldn't have been charged as an adult). The lady's daughter said she didn't want to service us because she had the table upfront to serve ( only 1 family of 4 was eating and they were seated and eating already. ) She said they were double Asians, then changed her classification of the family to " Chinese " ( her exact words) after I had asked her to clarify why she chose not to serve us. She called for her mother and said " she couldn't service us because we were..." ( she dropped her voice to a whisper. I stopped myself from catching an attitude and walking out.) So the " mother" services us for the remainder of our meal. The daughter kept watching us from the register and blatantly ignored us. By this time the other family had left the establishment. Mind you, we only order sliced beef, marinated beef and spicy chicken once. My brother asked to speak to the mother near the end of our meal and the mother said her daughter had a mental disability ( the daughter took our order without a notepad and she got our order correct without any assistance on the first try. She ignored us the rest of the way. Also rung up our bill while the mother was talking to us.) I wouldn't recommend this place in...
