El Taco Veloz — Restaurant in Chamblee

If I could have written this review without giving any stars, I definitely would have. I visited today for the first time with a coworker. I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the super nachos with no meat. The super nachos come with tomatoes, jalapenos, avocados, and onions for a $1.00 upcharge. The total came to $5 and some change, which I thought was odd at first because the sign said the cost was over $7.00. Then I thought maybe they were cheaper because I didn't order meat with them. Our to go orders were ready and without even looking at mine, I left and went back to work. I get to the break room and open my container to find tortilla chips with nothing but scorched queso on them. It looked like the chips were glued together I turned the container over and not a single chip fell or even moved. Matter of fact, the queso had eaten through the bottom of the styrofoam and the chips that were at the bottom had melted in the container. This is why my order was so cheap-I got chips and "cheese." Nothing else. I immediately got into my car and went back. I explained as best I could with the language barrier that this is not what I ordered. After almost 5 minutes, it seemed the cashier understood what I wanted and she put the order in again. My order comes up and I look at it. It's the same nachos from the first order, only they've added huge slices of raw onions, TWO SLICES of tomatoes, jalapenos, avocados, and sour cream to them. I think I found my new favorite Mexican restaurant! I'm a black girl that lives in the Chamblee area, and I have many Latino friends and neighbors. One day my neighbor was eating a burrito from this place, as it looked and smelled so GOOD! He recommended I come here. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly male cashier who took my order and also made some recommendations for what was good on the menu. I ordered the carne aside (steak) jumbo burrito, with a side of fries, and mango Agua. GUYS, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS PERFECTION!! The taco was huge and delicious, the fries were crispy and well seasoned and battered, not those frozen fries you get from other places and they throw a little salt on them. And the mango Agua was so amazing. My son and I devoured our meal and wanted seconds! And my son is a very picky eater. But it's now the next day and he's asking me when we're going back! Wow! I love the food here and can't...

This is a place that I used to love ...one that I’ve gone to MANY MANY MANYYYY times over the last 6 years. My family liked this spot because it’s close and we appreciate the authenticity.

Recently my partner ordered a shredded beef burrito that had a tooth in it....yes, a tooth (cow tooth?) Needless to say he couldn’t finish it afterwards.

After taking a few weeks to get over that lovely find, we were unfortunate enough to pull in while they were still open (nice neon sign on), they still had people inside eating, and a man paying for his food while we sat patiently in the drive through. After no one said anything we pulled up to the window and tried to get their attention, they literally did not make eye contact and did not speak.
