I really wish I could give a rating of zero stars or better yet negative stars. I’m so confused about why or how this restaurant shows up on google with a rating of 4.7/5. Lies! So let’s get into it. Upon walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by the smell of a dirty soiled mop. I was seated in the back of the restaurant against the wall in a tiny booth even though I advised there would be three of us dining. Upon reaching the booth, the first thing I noticed was that the walls were disgustingly dirty. Next, it was explained to me that I should use the QR code to place my order as well as to pay and if I need anything else, just press the “call button.” My friend arrived and also noticed the nasty walls. We chatted about how we felt like we were ordering from Uber Eats, rather than dining in at a restaurant. The workers are lazy. We witnessed one drop a dirty napkin as she took away a plate to the kitchen then walked over it twice without picking it up from the floor. We asked for our seat to be moved and the lady was absolutely annoyed by the request. I ordered the Larb Gai, which I’ve had and enjoyed from a different Thai restaurant. When I received it, it was cold…like refrigerated cold. I sent it back although she said it was “supposed” to be cold. We received no service other than when we pressed the button and someone begrudgingly came over with a look and energy of annoyance. When we left, no one even took the time to say thank you, have a good day, don’t ever come back, or anything at all! Lastly, the AUDACITY to charge a service fee of 15% is just disgusting. This place is nowhere close to being on the level of charging a service fee. The food is overpriced, flavorless, and inconsistent from plate to plate. The service is nonexistent and the attitudes of the staff are poor. I would not waste my time, money, or positive energy at this place. They really need...
Read moreI'm trying to be generous and attribute this poor customer service to this being their first week opened. We ordered online for take out and the indicated pick up time was 15 minutes. Well we waited at the restaurant for ONE HOUR past our pick up time because the food wasn't ready yet. We got tired of waiting and asked for a full refund but our food was finally completed. They did offer us a 50% discount for the extended wait which was appreciated. They forgot our drinks until we were reminded them and when we got home we realized that they left out one of our mango sticky rice too. Please work on improving your overall customer service.
As for the food, it was disappointing but there is potential for them to make improvements as they ramp up operations.
The Pad See Ew is actually one of the better versions that I've had in the Atlanta area but was still missing some key elements. I really liked that they used fresh chow fun noodles instead of the frozen one. There was more meat than Chinese broccoli but the beef was dry and very chewy which which was unfortunate. The dish was also missing that slight sweetness. There's definitely potential for this dish though if they can fix the beef and sweetness issue.
The mango sticky rice was Ok but I prefer mine with a larger coconut flavor but that's just a personal preference.
Thai iced milk tea was a tad too sweet but I like that they didn't completely drown the tea in just milk.
The roti-masaman was a disappointment because the curry seemed watered down and the roti was not crispy. Also this dish was the last dish made and held up our entire order for a bit?
Again, there's room for improvement. If this wasn't their opening week, I would've given this...
Read moreWe‘ve had Tum Pok Pok twice in three days, it was that good. My party of 2 went at 6:30 pm on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded. When we went to get our takeout at 7:30 pm on a Sunday, it was a lot more crowded. It’s very cute inside. Not too fancy though. You can wear anything. Very good service!
Here’s what we got for food: Tum-Kha Kai Hot Pot ($6 for a cup): OMG. So good. We’ll always get this. The hot pot comes with more and it’s cool because they light a fire under it, but I think the $6 for a cup is a better deal than the $16 for the hot pot. Pad-Zee-Ew ($12 + $2 for chicken): The best Pad-Zee-Ew I’ve ever had. Ever. The noodles were perfect. We will get this for sure next time. Num Tok ($14 + $3 for sticky rice): Spicy, but good. It was good, but too spicy for me. They said you can ask for less spicy, which I will if I were to get this next time. The sticky rice is not worth the $3. Pad Thai ($12 + $2 for chicken): I would get the Pad-Zee-Ew over the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was just average. Panang Curry Neau ($15): Spicy, but good. If we were to get this again, we would ask for less spicy.
2 entrees and a cup of the Tum-Kha Kai Hot Pot was a good amount of food for 2 people without any leftovers.
I got the Pok Pok Rita ($9). It was tasty with hints of pineapple and coconut. Not a must-try though.
We’ll definitely get the Pad-Zee-Ew and the Tum-Kha Kai Hot Pot. Still figuring out our second entree though. Tum Pok Pok will become a staple for...
