Marisqueria El Veneno — Restaurant in Doraville

This place definitely need to train their server how to treat their guests. We went there many times befofe Covid, the food was good but service was never their strong suit, but oh well, we went there for their foods. We went back sometime in August during Covid, the server didn't wear the mask when they were walking around the restaurant but at least my server had the decency to put it on when he was trying to take our order. Until last week, when we walked in, one of the server was prepping the frozen drink, he didn't put on any mask while he was doing that and actively talking to one of his coworker. I really hope he doesn't have any Covid, otherwise i feel sorry for whoever order that drink. Anyway, we got sat down and that same guy walking towards us trying to take our order, and i ask him where his mask at and why he didn't put it on. His answer " where is your mask?" With an attitude. We already sat at our table, we don't have to put our mask on, if you don't feel comfortable with us not wearing mask when you're taking our order, stand back a little bit. We shouldn't even need to ask you, where your mask at if you do what you have to do in the first place. Put your damn mask on. You're in food and beverage service, put your mask on at all times while you're at work.

After he put his mask on, after we asked him to, he asked what we want to drink, i told him we just want water, he said "we only served bottle water, no tap water" LOL. It wasn't our time time there and we always got tap water, at this point we know this guy is just acting like a douchebag, even fancy restaurants in Atlanta are serving tap water, who are you guys?? Well, save to say you lost some customers that will never go back or refer you to our friends, because we will only go to restaurants that care about their guests well being by taking pandemic seriously and also restaurants that not only serve bottle water but also tap...

I had years going to this place but it has gone bad in my experience. Specially today was a total disappointment my friend got really sick he ordered octopus and shrimp cocktail. The octopus tasted like it was bad. He vomited in the restaurant. I ordered a type of tilapia that wasn’t well done. I asked to talk to someone about it, and I let him know what was the problem but he came with an attitude that he did not wanted to take the blame even though we had been there for more than an hr 1/2 and how my friend got sick right after eating that cocktail. Another thing the service was bad for the tip he charged. I think it should be the customers choice to leave the adequate tip they shouldn’t add it. For the reason that servers like him/her don’t care about giving a good service because they already know they it will be add it to the bill. Another thing being new they started charging for crispy tortillas. One more thing now they even charge you now $4.50 if using a credit payment $8.00 for the tortillas 23.10 for gratuity So this is for people to know how these places rip you off with xtra of this and that I will never in my life go back to this place ever again. Another one the bathroom stinks like sewer all the time. Pay attention to what you are eating and don’t stay quite say something places like this don’t want to loose no matter the situation. Mi primera vez en este restaurante no fue muy agradable. Ayer yo y mi familia fuimos a celebra el cumpleaños de mi madre aqui entre las 6 y 8ish. Primero que nada el parking es horrible!! Si tienes suerte ahi parking enfrente pero como alado esta el taco veloz los parking se llena no tiene espacio y luego nos toco atrás del restaurante estacionar horrible lleno por q ahi vans del restaurante tambien de tras que no dejan entrar ni salir , nos estacionamos por fin. Entramos al veneno y Cuando nos sentamos 2 a 3 personas nos preguntaron por nuestras bebidas nos sabiamos quien era nuestro mesero/a. El mesero se tardo en atendernos nunca se presentó como nuestro mesero. Luego nos tomó la orden y luego q no separan checks?? Bueno esta bien tomo nuestra orden, y no ahi kids menu.... Durante el tiempo q estuvimos esperando la comida nuestro mesero andava ayudando limpiando sus mesas y se miraba demasiado molesto, que cuando fue por los high chairs 2 en cada mano, no podia y lo avento al suelo q todos en el restaurante voltiamos! Fue al proposito! Ni una sonrisa le miraba al señor toda la noche. Andava con mucha atitude cuando se alejaba del las mesas pero cuando le pedíamos algo cambiaba de atitude! Por lo menos no fue grocero directamente. Llego nuestra comida y aqui si no me quejo la comida estuvo presentable y muy rica! Y buenas porciones.Pedimos mojaras,camarones a la diabla, cóctel de camron sin galletas saladas??, papas para los ninos y arroz ya que no tiene variedades para ellos, Comimos y todo muy rico. Le pedimos al mesero un tenedor y de ahi ya no volvimos a ver al mesero hasta la salida, nunca vino a ver o preguntar si todo estaba bien si necesitábamos algo NADA !! Y eso q andva pasando por nuestra mesa mas de 3. Veces! El lugar no se miraba muy limpio, la pesera donde tiene los cangrejos muy sucia, casi sin agua, habia trays encima. El ambiente muy mal no funcionaba el music tunes la música ni habia ponian una cancion y antes de terminar la cambiaban! Ya Terminamos de comer estábamos esperando al mesero q vienera por los platos o a pregunatr si habíamos terminado NADA esperamos casi 10 minutos y mejor me pare y les pregunte a los meseros q estavan por la caja que estaba viendo un video en su cellular en tiempo de trabajo. Le pregunté si habia visto a mi mesero que tenia tiempo que no lo miraba y me dijo q mesa estas sentada ñe dije y le dije q queria una mojara para llevar le dije q era aparte la orden voy por mi dinero y me d Da un bill le dije q la mojarra era separado ! Y me dijo discuple como me pidio el bill pensé no le dije q era aparte dijo nomas dele 12 dólares a la persona q va pagar por Que ya lo mande!!!! Q molestia y que tipo de systema usan que no pueden separa checks!! Yo trabaje de host por 4 años y si se puede !! Bueno lo deje asi me fue a la mesa de nuevo esperando si miraba al mesero nunca se aparecio! Pagamos nuestra cuenta y nos fuimos por que ni el pastel queriamos partir ahi nada lo que queriamos era irnos rapido el ambiente era muy desgarable! Agarramos los regalos de mi mamá y nos fuimos! Ni un gracias por venir nada todos con malas caras. Saliendo ya estando en el carro que vemos a nuestro mesero !Caminando sobre la calle por de tras del restaurante vaya!! Casi queria regresar por el tip que dejamos que mal servico! No les recomiendo este lugar para celebra un cumpleaños o nada la comida si esta rica La recomiendo, pero el ambiente no me haria regresar y eso que fui un domingo y casi no habia gente!Q decepción venimos desde Snellville Georgia.Próxima iremos al jinete 10 min d mi casa.

Long story short horrible parking! Horrible customer service, my waiter was awful! Disappeared saw him in the parking after i had paid will not celebrate another birthday here!
