Never eat an omelet here. Greasy, runny and oily. Got the runs after a slimy omelette…
Salad bar is nice but if you order from the deli, the microwave TAKES FOREVER ( needs to be replaced). And they waste so many plastic containers. Thousands and thousands. They use one for each and every thing they microwave, and then put the things in a to go box. It’s kind of bizarre since they preach recycling.
Also, more CASHIERS needed in the deli, salad bar area and you should be able to weigh a salad in the restaurant window.
Not sure why they haven’t reprogrammed the scales to weigh there but it’s an issue for a long time since it’s usually staffed well and the deli and salad bar are often understaffed.
Also you may want to train the people that are running around in the deli/food prep area to run the cash registers. They don’t seem to know how or won’t. (They usually have plenty of staff back there but nobody to run the registers.)
Coffee shop associates are rude and the hours are terrible, closing at like 2 or 3.
By the way I eat here probably 2 to 3 times a week. I like the food, except of course for the omelettes. They just need to direct the...
Read moreFor having a menu that doesn't focus exclusively on burgers, Farmhouse Restaurant has quite possibly the best burgers in Champaign-Urbana. Not only are the burgers bigger, tastier, and individually unique but the value is unbeatable as you get a free side of your choosing (sweet potato fries FTW).
Whoever wins "The People's Choice" award for best burger needs an asterisk next to their name because Farmhouse Restaurant isn't listed as an option to vote. If "The News-Gazette" had actually included them in the competition, then we'd be dunking like Vince Carter and proclaiming, "It's over."
They are located inside Harvest Market and you can schedule pick-up on their website.
Edit: FYI due to a technical issue, the online menu hasn't been updated to reflect their in-house menu. So the item you order online may not be the same in store. For example, you place an online order for Shrimp Tacos and end up with a...

There's a salad bar, a prepared food deli, a made-to-order burger/sandwich counter, and a drink counter.
There's plenty of space to eat and work with plugs below the tables to charge electronics.
There's also a bar upstairs.
We ordered a strawberry banana chia smoothie (very good) and an iced tea (very bitter and didn't drink).
The gyro and waffle fries special, $11.99, was tasty, although the fries were cold. You order at the counter and pay there. You'll get a number and it'll be delivered to your table. Friendly service.
The salads looked good, which is what I'd choose the next time.
You can also purchase food from the attached grocery store and there's a microwave to heat items from the cooler.
There's also a living room seating area, a giant Jenga game, and a little storybook area for...
