Pueblo viejo Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Champion Township

It was... not good. Went a month later. Still not good. I love Mexican restaurants and I always order Chile rellenos. I've never had bad Chile rellenos. Until now, that is. Undercooked peppers. The upside was that they were the smallest rellenos I've ever been served (a downside if they were any good). The service was ok on the first visit. We figured it had recently opened so we'd try it again a month later. Mistake. Service was poor and my husband's food was lousy. This time the rellenos were good. And bigger. They were severely understaffed on a Sunday afternoon. So it was like going to a fast food restaurant; a more expensive fast food restaurant. I'll probably give it one more try (I really love Mexican food) but the hubs tapped...

Wow! Travelled 45 minutes to enjoy a dinner here with extended family. We had approx. 16 there and were very impressed with how the tables were set up in a square circular fashion so that we all could converse easily with one another while sitting in very comfortable seating. The tables were large enough to have plenty of room for delicious and abundant appetizers. The restaurant is decorated true to fashion the heritage it represents. The food was excellent! The menu options are many and the prices very affordable. The amount of food delivered accounted for a much needed take home box.😊 The service was attentive and excellent. Hope to make many future visits...

I am a newbie here from California and discovered this wonderful little treasure right down the road from where I live. The carnitas is out of this world. I've had a lot of carnitas and spent a lot of time in Mexico and it is some of the best I have ever had. The wait staff is amazing.... Not all of the servers can make a jalapena martini but Nicole is very skilled at the art of mixology... trained in Las Vegas and makes one of the best. No guarantee that you will get one but take your chances..... My experience has been that if she is not busy she can do it. So far this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in all that I have tried in Trumbull...
