My husband and I have been patrons of this restaurant for 18 years and last night (March 18th) we received the worst service I've probably ever received in my life. The waitress, Nicole, (who was also bartending - dark hair and wearing a black hat) was the most blatantly rude and sarcastic person I've ever encountered in the service industry. Apparently she thought she was too good to leave the bar and serve a family on a slow night, during a slow time when she only had 2 customers at the bar. Or she thought she was too cool. We were there early at 6pm for dinner with our kids who were being extremely well behaved. She constantly sighed, rolled her eyes and even walked off mumbling when god forbid we asked her to provide us with a kids menu and milk for them. She said "she'd have to see if she had any." And her response when we asked if she had crayons "I do not" and walked away. She even sighed and rolled her eyes when we asked for waters and napkins?! She basically threw our food at us, walked off and never checked on us again. By the end of dinner we all had empty glasses of water, no offers for a second beer and no checking on how our food was (the food was dry and bland which is unusual for them). We would try again based on the long term good quality food, but we are considering breaking our long-term ties with this establishment based on what their acceptable level of service appears to now be. There was a gentleman who was very nice and brought us a couple items upon request and our bill. When I asked to talk to the manager he said there wasn't one there. So here I am writing only my 2nd review ever because that is how bad the service was. My husband and I are pretty forgiving of bad service, but this was outright awful and a terrible way to end our day as we were trying to enjoy a dinner out...
Read moreWould have been nice to know the kitchen is closed 2 hours before the business closes. Or seen any time when the kitchen closed, instead of asking “can I get food” and being told “filibertos is next door and is 24 hours” which I find extremely inappropriate. Had I known the kitchen closed 2-3 hours before the business I wouldn’t have come in and ordered a beer on its own. Might be back to see if it’s worth it but really bad way to start off.
After response: to “speak with them about their ‘sense of humor’” is more flat out ignoring the blatant unprofessional behavior you very obviously as a business have no intention of correcting, and the backhanded apology is also very unprofessional. “Had you asked before...” well when I have to basically flag one of them down after nearly 20 minutes of waiting after getting in, no one to tell me ANYTHING. Secondly maybe you should put that on, yknow, a sign, the menus you have, outside on the chalkboard that had specials on it, your website, anywhere really. Then I would have known to just not come in instead of having to ask “hey since you’re open for another TWO HOURS does your kitchen happen to still be open like most normal businesses for at least another hour?” Seeing the blatant sarcasm into your response to myself and others is disheartening. I would have happily been more ready to try again and adjust my rating, with a simple acknowledgement that maybe you should put some kind of something so customers would know better, but I believe that attitude alone tells me you don’t really care about your customers and I’d rather not. I’d rather file a complaint with the BBB and let people know not to waste their time and money at an establishment who apparently has no capability of...
Read moreVisited last nite for all you can eat fish. Server was not interested in serving our table. Plates came with one piece of fish. Mine was the size of a McDonalds fillet of fish. Others were slightly larger. Our second piece of fish came 15 minutes after we asked for more, but came without tartar, so asked for some, twice. Didnt come until the fish was gone. Never was asked if we needed drink refills or anything else. Had to raise glasses up and was told in passing she'd be be with us in a minute. We had to ask for anything we needed as our server was rushing by. She appeared very unhappy about our requests. We felt unwelcome and as if we were a nuisance. Fish plates should start with 2 pieces of fish, they weren't large to start with, to help the service be more relaxing and the server not to be rushing from beginning to end. Everyone wants at least 2 pieces or they would just order the regular fish and chips, which comes with only one piece, and not have to also order a soda if they don't want one, to qualify for the "all you can eat". Fish was very good but not worth the hastle of putting out the server by wanting more than one piece. Even though service was sub-par we still tipped 20% as servers work hard and depend on tips to make ends meet, and she may have had a bad night. May rethink this the next time we have bad service somewhere. Probably won't be back. Plenty of good...
