Really good sized dog park. It has a bit of mud sometimes, but really depends. If you’re coming during the summer, make sure you come early. It will be too hot FAST! Also, on sundays it opens at 9:00am, making it effectively closed on sundays during the summer 😤. Tuesdays is closed all day. The gates SHUT at 8pm (you can get out) but there’s no easy in if you come after that. Once the sun is down, the lighting in this park is honestly the worst I’ve seen- and I’ve been to a lot of dog parks.
DONT BRING SQUEAKY TOYS. DONT BRING TOYS YOU ARE UNWILLING TO PART WITH. IF YOU BRING A BALL, BRING 2+! Sometimes toys will get lost, sometimes they will get stolen by dogos who want to play keep away or break the squeaker. Some people don’t understand that high energy dogs will find this fun and trying to run after them when they decide they want to play keep away is utterly futile. Also don’t bring the cheap balls that can easy break in half- they will break and leave chunks all over for dogs to eat.
Also, If your small breed dog cannot handle bigger dogs, don’t bring them :) The bigger dogs are here because they are the breeds that need exercise a lot of the time. 98% of the bigger dogos couldn’t care less about the small dogs, but sometimes the small dogs brought to this park just cannot handle themselves around big dogs and it shows. The agility area in the middle is used sometimes for small dogs, but other times it’s used for not-as-friendly-dogs, it is not a...
Read moreMy dogs actually love this park. After investigating most of the offerings in dog parks, this is THE one. Yes, there is droppings someone didn't pick up, but honestly it's hard to watch ur dog every minute and easy to misgauge where u think u saw him go. That being said, it's by far the more people and canine friendly place with lots of mature trees for much needed shade year round as well as a cool down pool they very thoughtfully brought out , much to my delight. My retriever, loves his pool and thinks someone put this here for him, but back to the park deets. I tell my dogs when we,'re getting close and they go apeshit. They were used to running on an acre and since moving here find they need running room, freedom. Well this is the place. No water ponds here but we prefer this well maintained beautiful park over the other one that has no trees to speak of... (How can u call that a park?). Parks and trees just go together and other dog parks are not well thought out as far as shade. My gosh it's super hot year round here, how can there even not be a code for trees everywhere an animal designation opens? I haven't used the facilities but if it's here, it's going to be safe and clean. This is furthest from me but my only park unless this one is closed, which they are on Tuesdays for sheduled...
Read moreThe amount of "stars" this park receives depends on the type of dog you have IMO. Let me explain. There isn't really a "small/timid" dog area to speak of. There is a large outside gate encircling the park then in the middle there is another squared off gated area that has some cool dog obstacles that people use for small/timid dogs but its not only for those types of dog's. Be advised in order to access it you need to walk your dog through the larger dog area. So if you have a dog that doesn't handle larger dogs well this may not be the place for you. That being said, there is a lot of positives at this park. The people that come here are very nice and accepting of newcomers. There is lots of places to sit and get some shade. The park is 95% grass/ dead grass which is great. No real big problems mud areas for your dog to drag into your car. Its located in the center of a nice, safe, and quiet neighborhood. There is water here so no need to bring your own. Make sure you check the hours and days of operation as this park is different then almost all others. Closed on Tuesday and only open till 8pm during the week with some other different times as well. There is also a minimum age requirement of either 12 or 13 years old. Hope this...
