For the past four years, I’ve been ordering her incredible Christmas cakes, and they’ve become a cherished staple of our Christmas Eve celebrations. My mother-in-law now reserves a specific space in her fridge for our "Christmas Honeybee Cake." At Thanksgiving, the family eagerly asks, "Did you get the cake? Are you getting the cake? I knew of Candis’ cakes from Instagram and when I got engaged a friend shared from her Instagram story that she was going to be doing a wedding cake tasting party. I signed up my fiancé (at the time) and myself, for I believe $15/person, when we got there we got to try so many different cakes and she was actively talking to guests and answering questions, and her husband was there helping out as well (we love a supportive husband!!) anyways we ended up deciding to do the vanilla cake and strawberry filling and inquired about the recommended size as we were doing a small intimate ceremony with our parents and spouses and a dinner with all of them after. She recommended the two tier small cake and was asking about how we wanted it to look, I probably looked like an idiot because I didn’t really know that would be a question nor do I really care I just loved the work I saw on her page so I gave her creative freedom. Candis was very responsive and kept checking in to make sure I hadn’t changed my mind about how I wanted the cake to look, I told her my color palette, how Ben and I met (working at Starbucks) and she put together the most amazing cake. She even came and delivered it to the room we were dining in so I got to give her a big hug and admire her work firsthand! I used Honeybee for my mom's 60th birthday cake. Normally when I send an inspiration picture for someone to try and capture, I go in with the mindset that it probably won't turn out as nice as the one on my Pinterest board. However, when I picked up the cake she had exceeded my expectations. It was even prettier than I was expecting it to be and tasted better too. Candis is bubbly and easy to work with. She makes you feel like your cake idea is the greatest that she's ever seen and it's obvious she puts 100% of herself into each cake that she creates. Upon pickup, Candis had also included some safety instructions and I was impressed with how thorough she was from the second she confirmed my date to the time that I picked it up several weeks later.
