I went Saturday afternoon at 11:30am and thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience at Singing Pandas, it is not only one of the best Asian restaurants I have been at, it is one of the best restaurants I have been at. Honestly this has been the only restaurant where I have visited that one senses even while in the parking lot that things are different, for the good that is. The parking lot obviously has been swept and is tidy, when you enter the restaurant it was immediately obvious that the owner had spent some time considering the layout of the restaurant, decorations and color schemes. Quality and thoughtfulness oozes everywhere from the interior design and layout of the restaurant, without being pretentious and overwhelming to the senses; also everything is clean, tidy and one gets the feeling that everything is where it should be. I was promptly seated and given the menu, I found all of the staff to be both pleasant and happy and felt very comfortable. I ordered Singapore rice noodle and conveyed to the waitress that I liked my food spicy, she said she would convey my wishes to the chef and they would put a little more curry powder in the Singapore rice noodle, she also said she would give me chili oil as well. The Singapore rice noodle was wonderful and I would recommend it. I also had Lucky Buddha beer for the 1st time, suggested by the waitress, which was also good, it was so good I had two beers; normally I only have one beer. All of this beat my expectations, but the best thing which happened to me is that Sherry, the restaurant owner, came over and talked to me. I had a very enjoyable conversation with Sherry, she shared with me some of her history, some philosophy of running a restaurant, her challenges in opening and running the restaurant, philosophy of success and more; it was a fascinating, delightful, and educational conversation. If you want a quality restaurant, where the owner truly cares and is committed to making her restaurant better I would recommend Singing Panda in Chandler Az, this restaurant experience truly is a rare gem and it is one of a kind. I did give advice to Sherry and that is to keep her spirit fresh and invigorated, if she does her restaurant will continue to shine. I look forward to dining in Singing Panda...
Read moreCURRENT UPDATE 6/4 - Sherry sold the restaurant and both the food and service have deteriorated... atmosphere has always been a little spare which is ok because food and service were stellar. Instead of cut-up pork in hot & sour soup, it is ground pork, which affects the flavor and mouth-feel - quit ordering it before we quit going entirely. The shrimp is the same number in a partcular dish, but half the size and quality. The variety and quality of vegetables has been reduced. The service has gone from friends of Sherry's to a revolving door of younger staff who make it clear you are a major annoyance rather than a valued guest. We have not found an acceptable substitute... Sherry ran an exemplary business - probably the reason for all the awards. Still grieving but can't drive from Sun Lakes to downtown Chandler for this!!! Update - review below was left 2 years ago. Want to tell you how clean this restaurant is - "A" rating from Inspectors!! And their food is even better than before, if that is possible. Totally addicted to the hot and sour soup!!!
Love this place! Everything is prepared on site, including sauces - with NO MSG!!!! Service is always impeccable, food of the best quality and consistently prepared. Clean and cozy, entertainment delightful, great food and service - you need...
Read moreSinging Pandas is an unforgettable dining and entertainment experience. We loved it! We ate there last night for the first time. We had no expectations, never having been there. But we were blown away with the quality of service and the fun atmosphere. As a dining experience, I would have given it five stars for a good food and service. Now, don't get me wrong. The menu, prices, and quality are typical for a nicer Chinese restaurant. Not necessarily unique but very good. You could eat here only on recommendation of the food. It's the entertainment and atmosphere that really seal the deal. Everyone is having a good time, staff included. The entertainment featured three different solo singers. Each of them were good and so fun to listen to. The genre they performed was generally old school, as in Frank Sinatra era. The only thing to be aware of is that during the performance, it is quite loud. So if you're really looking to engage in conversation, it's pretty hard to hear while they're singing. I'm not sure what is typical, but the performance started about 7:30 p.m. and ended at about 8:30 p.m. By 9:00, the restaurant was more or less empty and the staff was cleaning up for close. Parking is tight...
