Gazelle Meadows Park — Attraction in Chandler

Over the years this park has gone downhill. Even 14 years ago it was a scary park to go to. Thw lights never all worked at the same time. So it would be super dark in some areas. I wouldn't go there alone with my kids at anytime of day. It's not a place to be at night. Lots of suspicious creepers and activity going on all hours in that park. From drug deals, to shootings, to people having sex, people doing drugs, people vandalizing the play area, homeless sleeping there. The major issue is the amount of fights. Mobs of people will roll up to this park and just go at it. Its not very safe for children to be there alone even if you can see them from your driveway. The good thing is the city is finally doing something about it. Its so bright now with all the lights. Its kinda hard to do shady things with it lit up like...

There is no off-street parking, but there is plenty of room to park alongside the curb. There is a big grassy field, and there's some gravel in the middle section, and to that left of that is the playground. You could kind of use the grassy field area for soccer, but there are no official nets or field markings. Next to the grassy field, there is a sidewalk that looks like it kind of takes you halfway around the park, giving you something to walk on for some kind of cardio. There is also a water fountain. The picnic tables at this park were not shaded, and aside from that, there was one shaded ramada but it looked run down. This large park is amazing for the active family! The park has a separate sidewalk away from the street that circles the entire park and is perfect for daily walks. There are large grass fields for playing any field sports or a nice picnic when you don't feel like a bench. Also, there is a playground great for young children 5yr+ with a jungle gym, slides, swings and other playground rides. Conveniently next to the playground there is a water fountain to keep hydrated.
