This review is taking into consideration the fact that this is Chanute and this is about a buffet style- so with that : We thought it was cozy and more like your typical Chinese American restaurant style (that was refreshing). The hostess (owner?) was very genuine and her employee was kind. We tried almost all of the entrees and all food was really good! When you first go to the line you see the sections are not packed full of food, instead, they are smart and replenish often with fresh - but not too much! So the food you see, even if it’s down to a few scoops is hot and fresh! That’s a plus to us. The hostess also lets you know when some dishes have been replenished again. We like this instead of a hot plate filled to the top for five hours or more all dried up and old. They do a great job with their beef and ensure it’s tender. We ate everything on our plate. Nothing went to waste and it was delicious - all the choices. My husband is Japanese, so please know we are tougher on Asian food than usual. We drove 40 minutes to Little China and we will be...
Read moreQuaint quiet and professional honestly amazed this little gem exists where it is. American favorites along with some more authentic flavors though nothing terribly exotic. Very clean, with a good turnover of smaller plates which I think makes for overall better food. Great place for families especially who maybe want to experiment with more authentic flavors like 5 spice in bbq chicken without a helpful back up like amweican fried chicken or sweet and sour pork. I couldn't tell if it was the owner or someone else who ran the front of House but she was very attentive and clearly cared and understood the workings of the place. Not going to find dim sum or char sui but a wonderful little stop totally worth going to. It's a 45 minute drive for us and we...
Read moreIll start this by being nice. Above average buffet imo. Tasty Asian cuisine at a fair price. Now I get real. We walk into this place and are bombarded by a noisy TV blaring Spong Bob or some other nonsense. 3, count'm 3, Asian children are plopped down at the largest table, not eating btw, watching cartoons in the middle of the restaurant. Unbelievable. Flipping channels, transfixed on this garbage, they never spoke or broke their stare from the TV. No oriental music could be heard, would've been nice tho. Delicious hot mustard helped the meal go down. Chanute is a hard place to find good...
