Outsiders On Main — Restaurant in Chanute

I have yet to have a good experience at this place. I have a hard time believing any of the higher star reviews and everyone who leaves a lower review says it perfectly. I’ve had overpriced food (which I understand because of shortage, but places around here are better about pricing and quantity.) I’ve had food undercooked, to the point where it was still cold, wings that had almost no sauce and was very cold, and nothing seems to just hit right here. I’ve heard good things about the appetizers but I’m not much of an appetizer person. The owner is also incredibly immature and has no idea how to take criticism at all. As soon as someone has something negative to say, regardless of the severity, the owner will start to point fingers and tell the customer about why they are wrong and that they were just a bad customer in general. I’m no food critic but I’ve been around long enough and been to enough places to know what is good and what isn’t. And maybe it just so happens I have a bad experience every time I go and it’s just a timing thing. But that’s just from my experience.

Edit: Here to say that I’ve been here a few times since my original review and I feel as though it’s improved tremendously since the relocation to chanute. Couldn’t tell you why because I’m pretty sure it’s the same people running it. But the food was very good the several times I went, and the drinks were strong as well. Stopped in for a burger and a drink the other day the drink was excellent well made nicely measured the burger was overcooked but I didn't have time to wait for another one to be made. But from Reading previous reviews it might have took up the 45 minutes to make me another one. And I just did not have the time. From the past reviews I see it's no sense trying to mention it to anyone because then you'll get bad language on a review back to you. I've been a local reviewer and a district reviewer for Google for 10 years and the detrimental comments left to me by the owners just don't matter to me sometimes I get a good laugh from them. I would like to say your choice of toppings for the burger were excellent the lettuce was crisp the tomatoes were ripe it's just that someone needs to cook a medium rare Burger without making it well done I will return for your bar but I doubt it for the food. I never said I had to wait because I didn't reorder the burger it was meant to be helpful criticism but of course the owner sent me a nasty reply which was fully expected. So if you want to review this place you better give him five stars or you'll get a nasty reply. I have eaten here many, many times since they opened, and it's very quickly become my favorite place to eat and/or grab a drink! The food has never disappointed, from their signature burgers to their juicy, to-die-for steaks! (I'm craving one right now as I write this!)

The service also has always been more than satisfactory. In fact, I don't think I've ever had BETTER service from a restaurant than I have gotten here at The Outsider's. The server's are always upbeat, informative, and incredibly quick and helpful!

The owners themselves are often easy to spot running around helping out the staff, if not visiting with their customers and greeting us like old friends. I've never felt like an "outsider" when visiting the restaurant. They never fail to recognize me, greet me like family coming home for a meal, and serve up some of the best food I've ever eaten.
