Alvin Ord's Sandwich Shop - West Ashley — Restaurant in Charleston

Gotta do 4 stars for now.(ill be coming by again for a different sandwich and the larger size, but read the review below for an honest review)

Stopped in today for the first time, been waiting to stop in ever since ive seen the open signs. I kinda feel for the place since they cant run a full fledge shop but rather just a window for pick up, but obviously thats what we have to do during this pandemic, so no points taken off for that at all. Infact the door setup they had was pretty cool and seemed safe for the employees and customers alike. Good job👍

On to the sandwich part, i got the BLT in a small size as i wasnt aware of how a large would be, next time im going bigger and a different sub all together. The BLT small, came on a home made bun which was the best part of the sandwich, with shredded lettuce, visibly large amount of mayo(yum) and what appeared to be no tomato, but after really checking the tomato was there just very thinly sliced, the bacon is where the 5 stars was missed, the bacon seems to be microwaved bacon, its not the best ive seen on a BLT.

The cost was 12.95 for a small sandwich, a small bag of chips and a regular 20oz soda, no complaints on price that is a very fair price to me!

Oh my, how awful. The food was so delicious with their fresh bread, good ingredients that it was dangerously addictive. The service was terrible as it was super friendly and quick, just horrible in how great every thing was. My family (those living in the area) love the food and keep coming back. Now I am burdened with coming back for amazing food from an awesome place. Such a travesty. * for those unable to follow along or comprehend this review in its fullest; the experience was wonderful. I am making jokes as it really was great and recommend all to try the place at least one by coming in, ordering something, and enjoying, but beware as you may find yourself happy with your choice and want more, LOL. I really can’t say enough good things about Alvin Ord’s. What a find! The restaurant is small, and in an unassuming strip mall, like most delis. But that is really where the similarities end. Upon entry, I am always pleased to find the space very clean - a detail I really appreciate. The staff and owners are always kind and easy to deal with. Their online ordering system is concise, and I never find myself waiting for my sandwiches when I arrive. About the food: let’s start with the bread, which I’m pretty sure they make in house. It is “ delicious, and reminds me of focaccia. Very sturdy, and holds up well to the sandwich toppings. My wife and I think these are the perfect sandwiches for picnics because they last for a good long while without becoming soggy. The other ingredients are all high quality as well, and you can just tell they really care about the final product at Alvin Ords.
