I have eaten here several times with various bands. My first apologies to the waitresses for my poor tip, and I will make up for it next time. My friend plays with the River Mason Band, which played there last night. There was some band conflict between the owner or manager of the bar because it was agreed the band would play last night but when the band director called to confirm he was told there was another band on the roster....so tip #1, know what you have scheduled. We arrived, and the bar had fewer folks than usual. The band set up and was playing from 9:30 to 12:30. People were dancing, one patron asked River to play a song off his viper room site, and all was well, the guitarist broke a string but it was quickly resolved...out of the blue at 11:30ish the bar manager stopped the band saying that he really liked what they were doing but the owner was watching from home and was not happy and attendance was low so they needed to pack it up. Keep in mind this is Charleston, SC, with several beaches with bars, and it is summer, so folks are traveling and doing other activities. However, thank the good lord the band was paid agreed upon monies. However. The crowd was low on arrival, and they stopped the band one hour ahead of schedule while folks were still enjoying the music and met us outside apologizing for the managers' actions. All this makes no sense... however, it is a nice bar and has a great set-up. The River Mason Band is playing at Rivertown Public House tonight and in the next few weeks, Mainland Container, Bounty Bar, Planet Follywood and others. You can find the listing for the gigs and hear their music by searching the name. Have...
Read moreFour of us went there today to watch the Clemson game, get some food and drinks. The game was on one of the smaller TV’s. A customer at the bar asked for some of the other TVs to be changed to the game. One on the wall near the sushi case was changed for him. We were on the other side of the bar so I requested that the larger TV be changed to that game since the other larger one had the GA/TN game on it. Was told that both of the larger TV’s which are on opposite sides of the bar had to stay on that game because they are connected to the speakers. I asked that one of the TVs on the first row on the other side be changed and was told the last TV near the restrooms could but that was it because one on that side already had that game on it. The TV she referred to was on the back wall by the pool tables. Worst part is that there were no other customers on the side where we were sitting, there are 5-7 TV’s on that side and the only one that she was willing to put on the game we wanted to watch was the furthest distance from us. The bartender didn’t even seem to care. We paid our tab and left. Went to where we should have gone to originally down the road and they gladly changed the TV near where we were sitting. We were there from 4:00 to 9:30 and between the 4 of us we spent over $200. Want to add that several other Clemson fans left besides us, one man and two separate other couples. Lots of money lost for this business today over a simple solution...
Read moreWent in with my family of four after receiving a coupon in the mail. On the coupon it explains daily specials and offers different discounts. After announcing we had a coupon we where treated like customers that didn't matter. Server would take off without asking if we needed anything else...even went as far as sending the bartender to our table to question us about the kids eat free night..I asked for a kids menu..they said they didn't have kids meals. I asked why they had a kids eat free night that states that we must order from the kids menu . They then stated that the owners send out these coupons and don't inform them about it then said all they have for kids is hibachi. Well, that's a kids meal...so sad my server didn't know that I'm a server too and I usually tip 30% or better..i have never cut off my customers in the middle of their questions the way she kept doing to me..then sends the bartender to question my coupon? That's why I only tipped $15 in all.. Y'all need to inform your employees of discounts offered and not treat new customers like dirt when...
