On July 3, 2021 My husband, myself and two children decided to meet my friend and her son at Tricky Fish for lunch. There were three tables with seated customers on the main deck and NO customers seated inside the establishment. I am unaware of the seating situation outside of the back door because I did not venture that way. A dark haired young lady with menu's started to seat us when an flustered blonde, who I presume to be the waitress, became agitated and telling her that she just can't do it because she is too busy. My husband tried to speak with the waitress to explain that we were in no hurry but before he could finish his sentence she yelled at him and said "Sir! I have eight tables, I need twenty minutes". We always treat the folks that help us in restaurants and retail with the utmost respect and we are aware that some days are more trying than others but this lady was almost hostile and she was certainly very rude. We still decided that we would stay and told her to take her time. The other young lady got a table ready inside and we just sat and chatted while looking over the menu. Like I said, no hurry because we were happy to be visiting with each other. At some point I see another young man with a blonde bun, and the blonde waitress both talking to the lady that greeted us and seated us. She comes over to our table after a few minutes with different menus and tells us that because of the size of our party that we would have to order off a limited menu. The original menu is not exactly filled with a large selection of food as it is. And, our party was not large and consisted of 3 adults and 3 kids ordering "lunch" items. I kindly told my husband and friend that they were too busy and we should probably eat somewhere else and thanked the young lady who seated us (since she clearly was the messenger in the entire fiasco). It worked out great though because we went to SoHo's instead and had great food and the staff there were all wonderful. I used to eat at Tricky Fish often but after this I will never eat...
Read moreStopped here on a road trip from SC back to OH and it was an absolutely pleasure of an experience! The restaurant itself is very cute offering outdoor seating on a front patio, not to mention it was very conveniently located right off the highway. The server was so friendly and very helpful with meal recommendations. And then the food. The food 🤌🏼. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. I had the Mahi Tacos and they were so delicious I literally didn’t eat a chip until I finished them both (not to mention they’re very good sized tacos & not the super small ones you’d expect) I just couldn’t put them down! & I’m not a big guacamole gal, but oh my gosh the guac was so fresh and yummy, as was the salsa! My mom got the Crab Cake Po Bo Sandwich & was pleasantly surprised by the amazing flavors, she puts ketchup on literally everything, didn’t need to use a drop 😂 I will 100% make this a regular stop when traveling, and I’m the “let’s try somewhere new” type of person. Highly...
Read moreOmg we love the trick. We come through from Indiana and always make a strong effort to stop. Now some of the best part is the employee's and service. Each time we been through we have seen and talked to the cook the bartender and the same girl at the desk, very nice. However after today's experience i am really Really disappointed. The food like always a 10 outta 5 stars. The service was McDonald's in a bad neighborhood status. Some young girl with black glasses. She was literally texting on her phone while typing my order in. It cont as she would bring food out to ppl she would dismiss there request and start texting again. I sat there and waited in line for about 20 min. Then she disappeared for a while. I watched 3 groups of ppl leave as i sat there and ate. Thats a lot of money lost due...
