So I was not going to review these crab cakes but since I got an email from Wellwood to review and I was very unhappy with the order, I figured I should. First I order the mail order 5 cake package. When the crab cakes came in I noticed the Ice pack was on top of the containers (there was two containers) and it was room temp water now. Second, because the ice pack was on top, the container lid was cracked in many pieces. The three cakes in this one were ruined. They had small shards of plastic in them. When I called and sent pictures of the products the young lady on the phone was very nice but told me she would talk to the owner because there isn't anything should could do without the owners say. When she got back to me she said he would give me $50.00 back. I paid $135.00 total. I was surprised with that response. UPDATE November 8th. I received a response from the restaurant and they are re sending some crab cakes and the full refund. This is fair and I will certainly try the crab cakes again. Wellwood was voted #1 for crab cakes in Maryland so I am very interested in getting the crab cakes and checking them out. I appreciate them taking the time to make this right. The package came in packed securely and. much better than the first order. The crab cakes came in cold even though we were still in the upper 70's to lower 80's. Well done. Typically go here in the summer to enjoy all you can eat crabs. We wanted to celebrate my fiance's birthday with a delicious dinner (we could enjoy and not have to prepare) and with all the restaurants having to close their dining areas, we wanted to support local businesses and ordered from the Wellwoods take out family dinner meals. Braised beef brisket, garden salad with vegetable medley. Such a pleasant experience from ordering, to picking up our meal. The staff members were super friendly. Our food was hot and we were blown away with the quantity of food as well as quality for the price. You really can't beat it, we said we would be talking about that meal for a while, and that's definitely going to hold true. We are looking forward to ordering it again. Our daughter kept saying how tasty it was. The beef was so tender, and was flavorful. The vegetable medley was a mixture of everything from bell pepper to brussel sprouts. I wish I had better words to describe how satisfying this meal was. It brought a feeling of "normalcy" in these not so "normal" times. I highly recommend supporting this local restaurant. We stopped in for lunch and our daughter ordered the kids shrimp meal, best ever! Came in a cute crock with the shrimp steamed and peeled, she truly loved it and was gobbling it up, the apple sauce she kept commenting how she loved the apple chunks in it. As usual, the prime rib was delish and both were cooked perfectly. The waiters, not just our, but all on staff that afternoon were friendly and attentive. First I want to say THANK YOU FREDDY! You were amazing and I’m coming back just for you! Wow what good customer service! Freddy was accommodating and so personable. He had a sense of humor and made me really enjoy myself. When we arrived we were told they couldn’t accommodate our party of 8 unless we sat outside this night it was cold and kept telling us about the gratuity. Being a lead Hotel Manager I’m well aware of Gratuity solely respect it and understand it. It was annoying for every staff member to keep saying it. Moving on once she told us she could split the tables into 2 4tops she still tried to tell me we would be charged gratuity based on 8 ppl when in fact we would now be 4 at each table with 2 separate checks. After I raised concerns the Manager came out with a BLUE LIVES MATTER FLAG MASK. (This point I was uncomfortable) and didn’t say hello or anything (NO GREETING) just told her hold on and went and brought another person to our attention. Whom then told us we could sit in the larger room that accommodates 8 or more guests. No one was inviting really at first and it was airy. Freddy was the best part of the experience.. the seafood is GREAT! And worth the price I feel like we saved honestly I’ve went out and spent more but the food was great my favorite was the Calamari and Oysters, the kids enjoyed the fries and pizza. It was great to have a menu with such variety. All I ask is that you are Mindful that others that are not familiar with your area may visit and customer service goes a long way.
