We decided on Italian food for dinner and I wanted Carabbas but, they were super busy and didn't feel like waiting. So I had driven by this place several times and we decided to go. It was my fiance' my mom my daughter and her twin cousins. We arrived and the place wasn't busy it was nicely decorated and had a very comfy warm feeling to eat. They also had a guy who was doing acoustic music and he really had some great songs and the music was very entertaining. We got seated right away. And our server was very prompt in getting our drink orders and back out to us right away. We decided to get 3 appetizers 2 orders of Mozz Sticks and 1 Calamari and that came out quick as well. And let me tell you that Calamari was one of the best I ever had in my life! It was lightly battered and fried to a golden brown crisp and the marinara dipping sauce and absolutely delicious! And of course the Mozz were good too but that calamari was the bomb. Then we ordered out entree's and what can I say other than everybody's meal was just amazing! It was cooked properly it was still hot and it was full of great flavor! I tried a little bit of everybodys food cause I like to try different things. I had the Lobster Ravioli my fiance had Chicken Parm my Mom had Veal Piccata my daughter the spaghetti and meatballs and same with her cousin and the other had basically garlic pizza and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their food. I was a little skeptical about how the food was gonna be but what can I say other than I was highly impressed! Everything from the ambiance to the awesome engaged server we had to the food everything was top notch! And some of the kids also got dessert can't forget the Tiramisu was amazing along with the chocolate cake as well. This has to be one of the best dining experiences I have ever had and I just can't wait to go back. I know Italian food really well and this place hit on all notes. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place to anybody for a nice casual meal and would be awesome for a date night well worth the money spent. Thank you for the great food and excellent hospitality and can't wait to...
Read moreI have been a customer of Angela’s Pizza for over 10 years, and lately it’s been my go to order on the weekend. I’ve been ordering from DoorDash for the past 4 weekends straight, nothing wrong with my order. The last time I ordered which was today there was no chicken on my pasta, so I called the store to inform them and the GM Charles who refused to give me a last initial was not willing to do anything to solve my problem. There is no way to add chicken on the DoorDash platform so I have a note which states that I want chicken, but if the chicken is extra please give me a call so I can pay for the chicken. The past 3 times there has been chicken with my pasta this last time there wasn’t. The GM was not customer friendly and refused to fix my problem as if I did something wrong. He even acknowledged that he saw my note which means he knows I wanted the chicken. He also informed me the restaurant was under new ownership. I personally knew the past owners which they were the nicest couple who made it every experience very pleasant and always fixed any problem I’ve had if there were any. This new ownership is trash and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! I would not have even made a post if the GM wasn’t rude and not tried to pass the buck to DoorDash. I know I’m probably just a customer out of many but that’s not the point. I will never again go back to this restaurant and it would be nice if the new owners would send an email to apologize on behalf of their GM who was rude and should not be in customer service because he does not take ownership when the restaurant makes a mistake. Im not understanding why my past orders had chicken and this order did not. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life! I wish I could post screenshots to show proof I have not done anything differently when ordering on the DoorDash platform. The restaurant was wrong and it would have been nice to have the GM take ownership instead of arguing with me. Angela’s Pizza has lost a very...
Read moreWe went to Angela’s for dinner with neighbor’s last night. They recently moved to Charlotte from out of state and had heard about it and wanted to try it. We read reviews and found that it is under new ownership and some reviews were good, some bad, as reviews usually are. A review is someone’s opinion on a particular day.
So let me start off by saying that the reason for my 3 stars is because the seat I had to sit on was ripped and looked dirty inside (something I hate anywhere, it’s just nasty looking and you don’t know what’s inside), and the ladies restroom was not clean – always a good sign someone doesn’t care about the restaurant.
Okay, back to the nitty gritty…I did notice right away that the look of the restaurant was different. It was brighter with red checkered table cloths, and there were booths as you come in at the door. The restaurant itself looked clean, but the sanitation grade is a 90. The last inspection was in April with six red violations, all of which can make you sick; I don’t know when the new owners took over.
Anyway, back to the food. It took awhile before our server came to take our orders, and a long time before the food finally arrived. Our neighbor, V, ordered spaghetti with meatballs, my husband ordered pizza, M ordered penne primavera, and I ordered penne al a vodka. I liked my dish, it had a nice creamy texture and the flavor was good. I’ve had better, but this certainly was not bad. M liked her penne primavera, and V said his spaghetti was good, although I couldn’t tell if he meant it or not, he didn’t “look” like he meant it. My husband said his pizza was good, better than a new place we’d recently tried. I ate a slice after we got home and it did taste good.
All in all, we enjoyed dinner as we sat and talked, but they will need to get that grade up to at least 95...
