My family and I were at the hospital with our oldest daughter when she gave birth to our first grandchild I had been awake for almost 2 days. At the restaurant, the hostess seated us, the waitress’s stood in the front at the entrance to the kitchen and looked at us and kinda smirked and turn around. We sat there for over 45 mins and watched as others came in and got seated after us and got food drinks and we still waited an no it wasn’t all that busy I’ve seen them way busier we’ve been eating at them our whole life’s, Finally a waitress came up to us and asked what we wanted to drank and my husband was nice and said are y’all short staffed like most and she said “ what do y'all want I'm not getting into this right now and turned her head” our youngest daughter looked at us in shock, well we gave her our drank order and she went on in the back we thought to get our drinks but no she came back out and took other people orders and gave them refills and them coffee and we sat for like another 35 minutes while they just passed us we was never rude I was crying some and upset I was very emotional that day but I’ve been a waitress and a hostess and I know how it is to be treated badly I’m the type of person when we go out to eat I will make my kids clean up after themselves on the table and they know better than get up from a table at a restaurant and not leave a tip I don’t care how bad the service is people have bad days but this was something else. Well the waitress stood at the front and watched us. I was emotional from going through what we had been through with our oldest daughter anyway and after my daughter called me and asked me to bring her some pancakes from Cracker Barrel that’s what she wanted after giving birth and I knew I wouldn’t be able too because of how they was treating us. At this point another older man not far from us my husband said he had noticed he had been there when we got here he hadn’t had no service either finally just stood up and walked out. At this point I told my husband I’m leaving my daughter wants pancakes we have to go find some before breakfast is completely over and I was in tears at this point and I walked up to the hostess and I told them what had happened and they laughed and one of them “ she put her hand on her chest trying to make fun of me for being upset and said I’m not the manager get over it” and we just walked out and my youngest daughter said mom you don’t normally say anything at all and I told her I was just to emotional and felt like someone needed to know what was going on that day....
Read moreLife-long Cracker Barrel customer here. This had to be the absolute worst experience my family and I ever had at CB.
Upon entering, we stood at the entrance waiting to be seated for close to 30 minutes. I thought it was crowded but it was almost empty once we got inside. No host ever showed up. A server saw us standing there for a long time and asked if anyone greeted us yet, to which we replied, no. She seated us.
Our server took 20 minutes (literally) to come to the table and take our orders. (It gets worse!) She took our order and was supposed to bring out our drinks and biscuits, but 25 minutes later, our table was still totally empty. Totally!
She finally came out with the food, (No apology for the ridiculous delay) and we didn't see her again until 5 minutes before closing.
My entire entree was burnt to smithereens. I don't mean slightly overcooked either. My potatoes were burnt so badly that they crumbled into dust upon touching. The sausage was badly burnt. My biscuits were cold and hard. The eggs weren't cooked properly. (They were runny & undercooked.) The meal was inedible.
By the time she returned with the bill, she noticed that I hadn't eaten anything off my plate. Then she asked if we wanted anything else. I was visibly upset as was my wife. I began complaining and the server simply blamed the cook and did nothing to correct the situation. The store was about to close. Other servers were sweeping and wiping down tables.
I was offended by her behavior, so I took the check, paid the bill and left hungry. I've never experiencedsuch terrible service at Cracker Barrel before. My friend, who sat with us couldn'teven finish her meal for similar reasons. This experience has left me bitter and extremely...
Read moreYesterday I had a minor car accident on the highway and when I pulled off the exit, my car locked up and broke down in the middle of the road. I was traveling without my husband and with my four kids from Virginia to Georgia for Thanksgiving. The police came and called a tow and then helped me get my kids and all of our luggage out and walked with us over to the Cracker Barrel. The officer talked to the manager and explained the situation and that we needed to be there for a couple hours with our luggage while we waited on someone to come rescue us. No problem. Police left. Kids and I waited outside until our table was ready. It was very crowded and we navigated our way with our belongings to a table. I asked the hostess/server if there was anywhere to put our stuff. She rolled her eyes and said hold on. We were blocking foot traffic so my older daughter and I found a somewhat empty wall out of the way and started putting our things there. I told my daughter to go ask the hostess if this was okay. She started scolding my daughter that this was absolutely not okay. Then she came storming up to me waving her finger that we couldn’t be there with all that stuff. I explained that a police officer had cleared it with a manager and she said she didn’t know who I thought they talked to but there was no manager there and we needed to leave now. My kids were already seated, gotten drinks, and were about to order when I had to gather them and go. I asked if we could just have two tables and I’d put everything under us and she said absolutely not, she’s on a wait. The car accident, blocking traffic while everyone honked at me, seeing my car towed and left in NC was bad enough. But the icing on the cake was getting kicked out of Cracker Barrel....
