Wow, this was my first time having vegan Chinese food, and I am super impressed. The sesame vegan “chicken” is spot on, and has a great chewy texture that is more firm and chewy than normal tofu, which was great. The flavors of the fried rice could be a little stronger, but as a 11$ or so combo plate of sesame chicken and fried rice, I can’t complain. The portion size is large enough for two meals, and the flavors are delicious - makes me feel like I’m eating “the real thing”, without sacrificing flavor for the sake of it being vegan. The beef lomein was also really tasty. A tiny bit dry in my opinion, but great with a little soy and duck sauce. The vegan “beef” has a unique cinnamon taste or Chinese 5 spice, I’m not sure, but it tastes unique and has a great bite. I absolutely love that the vegan meats here are not flimsy tasteless tofu, or beans with spice. I can tell they put a lot of time and thought into flavor and texture profiles. Overall, super delicious, definitely will be coming back, and bringing friends!

Who would have thought vegan Chinese would be ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I’m not a big fan of the vegan proteins; for me they have been hit or miss. So I did play it safe and go with Veggie Lo Mein. But they asked if it was my first time and if I wanted a few chicken pieces added so I could try them. Yes! Of course! And they were very tasty 🤤. The seasoning was spot on in the dish the subtle hint of ginger throughout was so good and the Lo Mein noddles were perfect. The texture was on point and they were not too greasy; which I hate and why I rarely order them. That greasy mouth feel I can do without. The chicken pieces were delish! Separately of course one could not expect them to taste “just like chicken” but mixed in I could barely tell and I didn’t miss the real thing at all. I didn’t add soy or duck so that alone can attest to the level of seasoning and flavor. The spring roll was good too. Not greasy at all. If you can’t tell I don’t like greasy 🤢.

Ma Ma Wok is one of the best fully vegan restaurants in the area! I'm going to this restaurant for years and I'd like to share my best personal favorites.

  1. Drumsticks – this is like nothing else I've tried anywhere and they're awesome! Buffalo wings are a nice alternate although not as spicy and saucy as you'd expect. They're the same thing with extra coating.

  2. Salt and Pepper Shimeji – not quite the healthiest meal around but it is the most delicious. Better than fries! King Oyster mushrooms are similar but these have better texture.

  3. Kung Pao Veg. Chicken – (not in the pictures). This is a staple and we order it every time. It's sweet and spicy.

  4. Pan Fried Potstickers

  5. Wonton Soup + Sweet and Sour Soup

  6. Beinjing Veg. Duck – In case you wondered what the most expensive dish tastes like is very similar with the Drumsticks. Which I suggest you get instead. The Bao that comes with it is just white bread nothing special.

Honorable mentions: Lo Mein Vegetable fried rice Lemon Veg Fish Singapore Mei Fun Curry Stew Chinese Donuts Plus a few more which are...

I live in a small town where there are no vegan resturaunts, so when I was in the area I was so excited to try vegan Chinese. Everything on the menu is vegan, so it's awesome being able to pick anything on the menu. I got the sesami chicken with fried rice and spring rolls, which was pretty good but was different than I was expecting. My omni husband got the sweet and spicy chicken. He didn't like it too much because the chicken wasn't breaded but the owners were very accommodating and made him a side order of sweet and sour chicken to try. We were going to pay for the side order but they did not charge us, which was very nice. Though, we didn't like the sweet and sour chicken. I had high hopes for it, but we both thought it was pretty nasty to be honest. Over all, the restaurant was good but we had higher expectations. The owners were very nice and accommodating. I would probably go back to try another dish and give it another try. This place is very popular and has amazing reviews, so it's...
