Lotus Cafe — Restaurant in Charlotte

The service at this place is the worst ever. I visited this place for the 1st time a couple weeks ago to pick up an order I placed online But I will never eat from here again. When I tried to enter the store the guy literally jumped over a chair And ran to the door to stop me from coming in. He asked me if I knew how to read. He pointed at an old shriveled sheet of paper taped to the side of the door and asked if I spoke English or Spanish. He very proudly said he made the sign himself and ask me to read it out to him. I was astounded! I obviously did not do as he asked. All i could do was stare at him and asked him which language he preferred I use. The sign read that no one is allowed inside due to covid. I can proudly say I'm a latina and can read both languages. However, it's been months since the mandate has been lifted. I figured the sign was old and they just forgot to take it down. Having said that, there was no justification for his behavior. I've never been so insulted and treated in such a condecending manner. This restaurant should look into the type of people they place at the front of the store And make sure that they have proper customer service experience. I still left a tip but only in consideration of the cooks and not this individual. And to top it off, the food was not up to par: the egg rolls were hard and the food was salty! Good luck staying...

This was my first time coming to order food. My wife and I ordered food inside. There wasn’t anybody in the restaurant with us. About 5 mins later they get a rush with 5 or 6 people that came in after us. We waited for 30 mins. They gave our order away. The guy as the front the desk who put the order kept asking if we had the order and we didn’t have it. My wife went to move the car closer. He asked if I had left with the food I never received. There was an older lady that came to my car and asked AGAIN if I got the order and I repeatedly stated I did not. She starts to look around in the car. After 45 mins of getting the food we were NEVER given. Our order was incomplete. ACCUSING FIRST time customers of basically lying about receiving food we never got is insulting. The staff was arguing and yelling amongst themselves because of the error they made. We spent $40 and sat there for 30 mins inside the restaurant. DO NOT SPEND your money or waste your time visiting this establishment. They will give your order away, accuse you of stealing, never take accountability and your order is incomplete! I would call corporate if I could....

Very frustrating to drive to pickup lunch and to discover it is wrong when I get back to work with. What is even more frustrating and insulting is to be talked about in the kitchen claiming I did not order what was clearly on your own printed receipt. I asked you to correct it and instead of fixing it you actually scooped out fried rice back into your bin to serve other customers. This should never happen from a food safety aspect and then you tried to give the dish back to me with the fried rice that was remaining buried under the white rice. I told you I would not accept this because I can’t stand fried rice and then you turned around and started complaining to the others working I ordered fried rice, he ordered fried rice. Sorry but I know what I ordered and your receipt stated it exactly as ordered. You failed to address the problem. You did succeed in loosing a regular customer. I am glad now that I saw how you took food returned to the restaurant and put it back into the bin to be given someone else.
