Tokyo One is a charming dining spot nestled in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina, conveniently situated off Ray Road near Stonecrest.
As we approached the entrance, a delightful staff member noticed us and warmly welcomed us inside. Her kindness and cheerful demeanor immediately set a positive tone for our visit.
While I attempted to leave a tip on my card, it somehow didn't process, but she seamlessly continued with our order, maintaining her genuine and friendly attitude throughout. To enhance our experience, she turned on the TV, providing us with entertainment while we awaited our meal. Her hospitality truly made us feel valued and at home.
The ambiance of the restaurant was both relaxing and immaculate. Everything was well-presented, and we found that drinks and condiments like salt, pepper, and hot sauce were readily available. She ensured that we had everything we needed promptly.
Now, let’s talk about the food – it was simply scrumptious! While I did notice that the rice could have benefited from a bit more cooking, leaving some grains a tad firm, the overall flavor was outstanding. The dishes were cooked to perfection and well-seasoned, with the shrimp sauce being particularly impressive.
But the highlight was undoubtedly the hot sauce. Although it came in a Sriracha bottle, it was far from the original; it was a unique homemade blend crafted by the restaurant. We enjoyed it so much that we almost finished half the bottle! When I handed it back to her, she playfully remarked on our fondness for it. I told her I had no idea what it was, but it was absolutely fantastic. This sauce had the perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness, with just enough kick to add excitement without overwhelming your palate. Its delicious flavor enhanced our entire meal, keeping us engaged with every bite.
I wholeheartedly recommend Tokyo One. It deserves a full five stars for its fast service, friendly staff, spotless environment, and, of course, its...
Read moreI wish I can give this place negative stars but since Google doesn’t do that, I am forced to give it a one star. My sister suggested hibachi, and normally we don’t like eating at places that we have at home, so we found this place. First off, the food was not good. Very salty, chicken is dry for some reason, nothing was seasoned or cooked like hibachi is SUPPOSED to be cooked, didn’t get my zucchini nor onion like I asked, it was very disappointing. The lady at the front was VERY RUDE, it seemed like she didn’t want to be there (I don’t blame her), just very stand off-ish. Before we left, my sister went to the bathroom. She said the top part of toilet wasn’t even there, and the toilet was clogged up before she came in there. As a nice Samartian, she told the lady about the toilet. The same troublesome lady had the AUDACITY to say my sister, “oh you’ve probably clogged the toilet.” “You probably put too much toilet paper”. It was such a disgrace to wrongfully blame someone when you know your plumbing system is terrible (whether they messed it up or the people who owned the building, who knows). My sister did the right thing by saying she DID NOT clogged the toilet and that was wrong for blaming her. The troublesome lady continued to talk disrespectful about us in front of another customer while we walk out of the hole they unfortunately called a restaurant. I bet you if Jon Taffer👨🏻 was to come up in that trap, he probably would’ve gotten better service, and the place would be jumping at this time of day. To put it in simple terms, the lady was racist towards us and being mean all because we want to simply order at this terrible place. Do not go this place if you can. I don’t wish for them to close, but if someone like Keith Lee was to try their food; I wouldn’t be surprised if they are...
Read moreThis review is fit the Camden corners location. My first time at a Mr Tokyo. I don't know where to start. Egg roll hard way to crispy no filling.crab ragoons almost burnt. Filling ok. The dark pink sauce that comes with them looked like duck sauce but had a sour taste and was extremely thin. The white rice was ok. I asked for fried rice but was given some kind of dried out brown rice. I ordered 2 chicken and mushroom/ broccoli. TERRIBLE. small tasteless pieces of chicken very hard broccoli. More mushrooms than chicken. No kind of sauce. NO flavor. I also order the steak. The same think. Tiny pieces of square cut meat. No flavor and very dry and not tender. I asked for homemade hot mustard. It was in the tiniest container about a teaspoon full. I tapped it on my plate and it was watery and ran down my plate.digusting.i spent 54.00 dollars. I feel like I threw my money down the toilet. Never again. Do not go to this Mr. Tokyo location. Maybe others are better. I don't know how they get...
