I had the most horrible experience on Monday July 25th. I went in and asked specifically if the potato soup had any ham or bacon in it and the so called manager named Christopher said it is garnished on top only and he would remove it so I ordered. I asked him if it had any bacon inside it and he said no. I remember asking and making sure three times before I placed my order and he assured me there was not any in the soup. When I got the soup I ate few spoons and sure enough there were bacon pieces mixed in it. I went and gave it to him and said I want a refund. He said he refunded me but it has yet to show up as refunded. I called yesterday to ask for the manager and a young lady said that the soup has always had bacon mixed in it. Later Christopher came on the phone and said that he was the assistant manager and he said that he knew that the soup had bacon mixed inside of it also but he thought I just didn’t want the garnished bacon which is on top. I said that was so stupid and senseless. I specifically told him before ordering that I did not want any bacon. He laughed. An apology is not enough for this. I was disappointed and want to get someone higher in the restaurant to do something about this issue but am having trouble finding anyone. I felt so bad and insulted. I don’t think that they should get away with this. I don’t eat bacon as part...
Read moreMy husband and I used to eat here frequently and have always been satisfied with the food both from a flavor and quality perspective. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we haven't really gone out to eat and have really missed that experience. We decided to venture out to McAlister's Deli for the first time since our state instituted a stay at home order and I have to say we were mostly disappointed.
We both ordered soup and while my husband's was warm mine, the fire roasted vegetable soup, was cold and lacking the most important ingredient, vegetables! Additionally, we both ordered sandwiches that had roast beef; the flavor was lacking and the meat was tough.
I know that things are difficult for restaurants and I feel bad for writing a poor review; however I'm currently not working and so going out to eat now is a treat for us and this ended up not being the "treat" we had been looking forward to. I would like to note that we did contact the restaurant directly about our food and were offered an apology and a promise for a better experience next time. However, we paid over $5 for my soup and an apology doesn't quite fix the issue. Disappointed in the food and the lack of a better response to the complaint. Won't be going back until things return...
Read moreUpdate. Gave it another chance. Kid mac and cheese order was lost. We waited 30 min for it. I hope another restaurant replaces this location someday. Bad food. Bad service. (I hardly ever write bad reviews). Dropping review from 2 to 1*).
Very clean and friendly staff, however we were disappointed to find out they don't do 'Kids Eat Free' on Tuesday nights like all the other CLT locations. Also had to pay extra for drinks for the kids (they don't come with the "kid's meal" at this location). So a kid's mac and cheese (1 scoop), prepackaged small applesauce, and a small lemonade is $5.69+ tax. Better options nearby. Sparse crowd at dinner compared to the other locations. We'll drive to Carolina Place or hit up Duckworth's for Kids Eat Free Tuesday...
