Let me begin by highlighting that Scoops and Sprinkles is a family-owned business with a welcoming atmosphere curated by the Greers. Allen, in particular, stands out for his warm hospitality. The establishment is not only clean and spacious but also exudes comfort. The wallpaper serves as a perfect backdrop for selfies, although my excitement for ice cream took precedence. However, I am already looking forward to returning to capture that moment at Scoops and Sprinkles. The ice cream itself is rich, creamy, and offers a delightful array of toppings that tempt you to try them all at once. Though I had to restrain myself to avoid a sugar rush during my initial visit, Mrs. Greer's guidance in selecting flavors was invaluable. Upon expressing my willingness to explore new tastes, she recommended her personal favorite – amaretto cherry ice cream – which paired wonderfully with the strawberry cheesecake. With just two scoops, I was already planning my next flavor combinations for my subsequent visit, as I am eager to return. For those in the University area of Charlotte, do not miss the chance to experience this gem. Scoops and Sprinkles surpasses chain creameries as you get to connect with the individuals firsthand and get to know the wonderful Greers yourself.

It’s getting harder to find locally owned ice cream shops, but Scoops and Sprinkles is keeping the tradition alive. Mr. Alan, the owner, takes great pride in his craft, and it shows in every scoop. This neighborhood spot serves hard ice cream, soft serve, Italian ice, iced coffee, and smoothies. Today, I kept it simple with a chocolate and vanilla soft serve twist topped with their “magic” chocolate shell. The shell had the perfect snap, and the soft serve was smooth and creamy. The friendly service and small-neighborhood charm make this place feel like a childhood memory. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Came on a whim on the the week of the grand opening to visit a friend. The inside is very cute and the flavors are delicious. I tried the key lime pie- which was delicious- but because of the enthusiasm of the owner I got a scoop of the superman. The staff felt very welcoming and kind I was happy to have learned of this establishment. They gave my friend and her child excellent service, they ordered a cookies and cream in a kids cone - the owner chose a cone with no breaks or cracks and filled it to the bottom. Great service! Definitely would come again just to get the warm welcome and trying new flavors.
