Let's be clear. This is the best pizza on the planet. Of course, it helps if you like New York-style, but if you don't, then you're probably not eating real pizza. The portions are enormous. Slices are good but are reheated when you order them so YMMV. When I’m not crazy hungry, I go for a pepperoni slice and a cheese slice. The slices come from a large pie, so two are similar to a small delivery pizza. Their lasagna is good, comes with bread, salad and real metal cutlery. Our Tony here is Greek and has merged into the bigger family. This is an authentic Tony's where there may be one or two that don't have a Tony. Marine Corp vets run one that comes to mind and that's perfectly fine because the small family franchise got it's feet wet in Jacksonville, NC where the original Tony rules (check your credit card charge and it will be out of Jacksonville.) When I was 14, I was allowed to go with a friend to the Jacksonville Mall with a friend without an adult for my birthday. That's where this love affair first started. The slices' size (never get smaller than medium but shoot for large to impress your friends so you can show them how to fold), the cheese pulling into your mouth. The burn on the upper mouth if you didn't wait for the smoke to clear. Fast forward, and when I got out of the service, I moved to Havelock, NC. They followed me, but this time it was Mario. The affair was rekindled, and now so many years later, Mario is in the triad area. A move to Charlotte, and sure enough, the road outside my house is a straight shot to them though the 9-mile journey down 485 is more of a breeze. Stromboli is excellent though a bit greasy, but they are shoving a lot of meat into it. Calzone is also fantastic if you want more cheese and most of the time, that's more gentle on the system. I leave out the ham and stick to the different cheeses and mushrooms. Leftovers store nice in the fridge but I’m pretty burned out eating what I do. Go. Say Greg sent you if Tony is there. He knows who I am. We’ve known each other since 2001. Some of the staff have been there probably for a dozen years, which's a good sign. As changes mentioned in other reviews, I have to disagree. For nearly 40 years, I have the taste, the warmth of the staff and the whole experience burned into my mind. If there were a change I'd know about it and I wouldn't be writing this review. On Friday and Saturday, prepare for a line stretching out the door. Plan accordingly. It isn't cheap until you figure in the delivery and tip from the usual places. Keep in mind that the big delivery chain’s largest pies are smaller than Tony’s small pie. Try the spaghetti also with meatballs. Then do something new and just get the meatballs and some Mozzarella sticks. Indulge. Get some cheese on the meatballs too. Finally, while the website is correct when mentioning the hours and phone number, the Huntersville location has not bought into some of the marketing as the other stores, so don't expect anything else, at...

I can’t eat much now a days since a surgery I had, so meals like this are rare. It was an itch I had to scratch. I wanted the best NEW YORK style pizza I could find. So I went to Reddit for help. They lied to me.

I ordered a Pepperoni and a White pie, along with meatballs and garlic knots. I ordered the pies well done, and specifically said I wanted a nice char on the pizza. What I got was a flavorless white pie, and a floppy pepperoni pie.

The marinara sauce was not good, with minimal spices. It tastes like basic tomato sauce , which really took away from the pepperoni pizza, and offered nothing to the knots.

The pepperoni pizza was very floppy, even though I ordered it well done. And while I did order the XL pie, it shouldn’t have flopped all the way up to the crust. If the marinara sauce was better, the pie would have been good enough.

The white pizza needed a lot more garlic and some additional herbs to help it along. Not terrible, but missing a key elements to be good.

The meatballs were struggling from the bad marinara problem as well, and didn’t have enough spices on their own to carry them on to being good either.

The knots were great though! Didn’t bother ruining them with the bad marinara sauce.

With some simple corrections, I feel this place could have been a lot better. I don’t think I’d drive an hour to come back...

Coming from the Italian part of the Bronx I got to say this pizzeria knows their stuff I highly highly recommend eating here. The pizza is incredible. The menu has great variety and a lot of the Italian Classics. One thing is for sure. I do have a goal to try everything off of their menu, but it’s hard to get past the pizza cause it’s on point the service is terrific quick and pleasant the atmosphere very clean, quiet, soothing, good relaxing place to eat. I would definitely recommend a piece of pizza from here if you have never had pizza from New York. It is almost identical, but I would recommend dabbing it with a paper towel does tend to get a bit greasy, but that’s what makes a pizza delicious too good job guys. I am definitely coming back. I definitely wanna try more the menu and I wanna leave a bigger and better review so ladies and gentlemen if this review helps you remember smash that thumbs up and follow me for more reviews photos will be coming soon for...

Let me tell you what you want to know. Plenty of parking is available for easy access to the restaurant, orders are made at the front counter (no waiters/waitresses) and prices are somewhat comparable to other pizza shops. I was originally going to get two slices to satisfy my pizza cravings, but couldn't justify the math behind it ($8 for two or 10 in for $10). I ordered the 10 inch pie and the first 3 slices were awesome! Nice crunch, minimal flop, not too salty, but as I made my way to slice 4 that crunch was substituted for a doughy texture. That pizza flavor became a bit bland and not dropping any names, but employees are supposed to engage with the customer ordering, not having playful banter with their co-worker in front of them (witnessed not experienced). I think this pizza is for the regulars that have gone there for years and not necessarily for those seeking a consistent, high quality pie.

The taste of the pizza was great, but the portions were amazing! We got the 17 inch pizza between my wife and I and we over half of the pizza we ended up taking with us. One slice is like a quarter of a regular large pizza anywhere else! I like the sauce, but I do think it could use a little more garlic too it, my personal preference! They hand toss their own dough which I loved. We had a order of garlic knots that neither one of us liked too much, just because I think they say in the warmer too long, which I understand because of how busy they were, and I do mean busy! Overall I would definitely try them again and I think that if you are near this one definitely try it out! That's all for now my friends until the next time!
