Went to this store twice today. My first experience was fine, nothing to rave about nor did it deter me from returning. I called the store prior to my return to be sure they had what I was looking for. The store was a little busy due to the hurricane due to come on Thursday, but they had ample staff and had restocked their shelves since this morning, which was awesome. I grabbed the things I needed without any trouble and preceded to self checkout as I had this morning. There was a staff member standing by helping guests as needed and watching everything going on at self checkout. Which is standard. However, after watching me ring up my items one by one as my daughter handed them to me the staff member accused me of stealing the water under my cart, which she saw me ring up with the handheld scanner. I also had my infant son with me in his carseat. After accusing me I immediately handed her my receipt, I haven't even gotten my bags from the scanner before she came running over. Not once did she apologize for humiliating me in front of my children and the entire store, she said "I didn't mean it like that". Like what? A white lady accusing a black woman with her children of stealing? Oh ok... I'll drive past here which is only 2 minutes from my home to another store before I spend another penny...
Read moreThe reason I'm giving one start, and trust me, I could leave 0, I would. Yesterday at 3:30 in my afternoon, my mother, who is elderly, going through chemo and radiation, has no hair, can barely speak, and has lost a lot of weight, went into this store to buy stuff for dinner. She was at self checkout, and needed help. She didn't see an employee around so she walked over to the service counter to ask for someone who could. She walked over to the counter to ask for an employee to walk over to self checkout. She point right at my mom, and with a deplorable additude, she told my mom to get in the back of the line. My mom was trying to tell her what she needed but the woman kept cutting my mom off and kept telling her what she needed. The woman finally understood and once again, with a disgusting attitude, she yelled at my mom to go look for him in another part of the store.
Why does this continue to happen at this location? Why do they continue to hire nasty employees to represent your store? Foodlion, you...
Read moreIn the two years I've been shopping at this location, I had the worst service yet. Karlos has a terrible attitude and poor customer service skills.
As folks were checking out in from of me, it was clear he was giving them equally terrible service.
He offered no greeting and didnt say much until he asked if I had a Food Lion card. I told him I did not but asked if he could apply the store card. He flatly told me no and said I'd have to go to the kiosk and create one for myself. Per him, it was a store policy--the first I had ever heard of it. There was a line of several people behind me so I asked again, to which he replied "I can this one time but that's it." I let him know that's the first time I've ever heard that, a statement he didn't think deserved acknowledgment.
I will just buy everything at Publix from now on. Some things may be pricier there, but their attitudes are great and policies and quality customer service are...
