Customer service left a lot to be desired. There were a lot of problems as well: they were out of at least one of the menu items, the prices were inflated greatly beyond the amount of food we were given. A trainee was on duty, so I understand some of their issues. But the manager who was working with us seemed stressed or not on top of her game. Our meal - a few subs, chips, and some sides - was a standard long dine-in wait. I stress the long. Food portions were small, but the taste was quite delightful I do wonder what was happening behind the scenes that led to this disappointint experience. The presentation of the deli was pretty low quality as well. A window displaying 2-liter bottles for sale actually was a different store. I moved to Charlottesville by way or Charlotte NC(which is deeper south), NY and other places. I, for the first time realized that I actually do get treated differently as a black male. I have never been one to play the race card for anything. But this requires attention. I entered this pub/bar fallowing a male, of non-color, who was offered a full six pack of beer to go! After he and the bartender went back and forward about price for a full minute. He decided not to purchase because of pricing. I step up and politely ask what options where available as it relates to beer and wines and was immediately shutdown. In short I was quickly asked to leave. This is a review of Wednesday night karaoke which, as a scene, is amazing with great energy from the college kids. However the KJs leave much to be desired. First the music is disrespected as they use a setting that cuts songs off abruptly leaving singers to twist in the wind. Second, the singers are disrespected by a very poor mix, that is unless the KJ is singing, in which case suddenly the sound is amazing. Underneath it all is a weird vibe where the KJ tries to be the star of the show and seems to want to compete with the singers they are there to serve. A change at the KJ position would make a...
