My husband and I dined at Tangerine’s for dinner last night. What a great experience! The service was friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and efficient, and the food was delicious! We started with four different appetizers as we could not decide on only one or two. We had the Crispy Roll with sweet/sour sauce (crispy egg roll with light breading filled with veggies—more like lumpia), the Curry Puff with cucumber salad sauce (an empanada like crust filled with potatoes, onions and carrots), the Chicken Satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad sauce (this was not served on a stick as normal—after all, why do you really need a stick? It’s always hard to get it off of the stick!) and the Duck Tacos with ginger-hoison sauce (3 tacos filled with roasted duck, cucumbers, scallions and fresh cilantro). All four were amazing and the sauces added to the flavors! After finishing those, we decided to split only one entrée. We decided on the Chicken Massaman Curry (a mild curry made with chicken thighs, mini potatoes, grape tomatoes, onions, peanuts and shallots). I love curry, but I don’t like spicy food, so I frequently have problems finding a curry that is mild enough for my tastes. This one was perfect for me, but still tasty enough for my husband. They do have other curry options that are medium and spicy. They serve several types of beer, as well as several types of wine. I chose a pinot noir from New Zealand, and my husband had a beer from Thailand. They also serve non-alcoholic choices such as soft drinks. If you are looking for a reasonably priced option for dinner with great food and service, you should definitely check out...
Read moreIt’s really hard for me to give a place a 5/5… it’s really hard. But this place is just absolutely brilliant. You have to come here, you have to eat here, you have to support this place. One visit is not enough, this is now my favorite place in all of the Charlottesville-Albemarle area. I’m such a big fan of breakfast food. I’m constantly looking for new places to go to for it, and am very critical of it. I mean, it’s breakfast, it’s supposed to be homely, filling, and give you that pep in your step for the day. Charlottesville has some good spots, Jackshop and Bear Appetit being the best… until now. Their scrambled eggs are cooked perfectly. They are solid, but yolky. Their potatoes are crispy and seasoned, yet fluffy and easy. The chicken apple sausage is fantastic… I mean… who would’ve thought of that combination??? And do not get me started on their French toast… oh. My. God. Only thing that could’ve made it better was some bananas with the other fruit. It was perfect. Perfect. And their Thai food? UGH! I was obsessed with Pineapple Thai because they had the best Massaman curry I’ve had anywhere on the east coast… but now? Pineapple who? lol. This is my go to for Thai and breakfast.

Read moreNew fave place for breakfast AND Thai foods . We went at lunchtime, which was nice to be able to choose between brunch options (MANY things looked appealing) and Thai. Peach tea and lemonade both tasted fresh. The bacon scramble was outstanding. It reminded me of my fave breakfast at a NY coffee shop. Now I don’t have to go to NY to enjoy! This one had avocado and fresh tomatoes to make it perfect. My husband thought the drunken noodle was better than any he’d tasted in Cville. All in my party greatly enjoyed their food. The one waitress handled every table easily. The food came out speedily. I can’t wait to go back to try other items...
