Customer service past "the sale" is nonexistent. I traveled to Charlottesville last September to assist my mother in purchasing new furniture. It has been well over 20 years since my mother had new furniture and I thought this would be a treat for her post retirement. I have purchased Havertys furniture in TX and felt my mother would love their options and service. Well, Havertys has shown me that I should have gone elsewhere.
We purchased a recliner, a chair for the living room and a sofa. When we informed the saleswoman that we needed the items November 8th, she stated that was perfect because of the many delays due to covid. So we left feeling good.
When November came, we were informed the recliner and sofa were delayed until Christmas and the other chair had to be picked up since they do not do partial deliveries. Now, this was never told to us while we were paying cash for our purchase. I should have taken this to be a sign, but thankfully, the rental car I had was large enough to obtain the chair.
The week before Christmas, Havertys delivered my mother her recliner... but no sofa. They informed her it was still delayed and would be delivered on Jan. 25th.
Today is Feb. 13th. No one has called me or my mother ever regarding her sofa. WE have always had to call them. And with every call, no one seems to know where the sofa is or when she will get it. Hell, one guy promised to send my mother a $100 credit and... we are still waiting.
Since Feb. 11th, my mother's sofa has been promised for delivery. On Thursday and Friday, we watched via the website, the truck making stops in every other surrounding city, except for my mother's home. Hell, the sofa is still on the truck and it has seen every part of Albemarle county except my mother's home after three days of promised delivery.
Today, when we called, we were told the sofa is on the truck, yet it cannot be delivered until the 20th. At this point, I am done, but my mother wants to give them another chance to get her sofa by Tuesday, Feb. 16th.
Havertys Furniture in Charlottesville, VA, what will you do? Will you deliver my mother's sofa or continue to ignore a customer that 100% paid for her items in cash? Why? Is it her age? You did not like her money? What? I would love to know because this is RIDICULOUS! Havertys, you need...
Read moreAbsolutely worst services I've ever had. Do NOT buy anything from them. I order a sectional from them on black friday. Got a phone call and a email saying it would be in the store Wednesday December 28. So rented a truck and trailer and took day off work to pick up. And gave our current couch away to family in need Tuesday morning. Got a phone call mid-day Tuesday saying the couch didn't make it on the truck and won't be in until January 4th. After talking to 5 ppl on the phone and repeating the story numerous times. The manager said they could deliver for 1/2 normal price. Store would pay 125 and I would pay 125 for delivery. After I refused and put on hold for the 10th time. The store agreed to pay for full delivery. Well today is January 4th and I get and email confirm deliver for January 6th with delivery time. Then few hrs later I get a voicemail from the store say the sectional didn't make it on the truck again and is currently in Mississippi and won't be delivered to store in time. I have repeatedly told them I HAVE TO have the couch by Jan 13 as I am hosting an event and need seating. Well the next delivery day for "my area" is January 22 and that's IF the sectional actually comes in. So I will have been without any kind of seating in my living room for a month without compensation. And will have to rent a ton of tacky folding chairs for my event. Never will buy from...
Read moreI am incredibly unhappy with Haverty's and would never shop there again. I ordered 2 dressers last month, both which arrived damaged. It took them a week to send someone to inspect it and he was 4 hours late and his scanner was broken so he couldn't take photos to document the damage. I was told the next day by phone that the dresser with two drawers that don't open all the way would be fixed in two weeks when a part was delivered. Today, they said it would take three months or likely more. I had to work through layers of customer service representatives for over an hour on the phone to get a discount on the delivery fee for the replacement dresser as Haverty's "doesn't give discounts on furniture" per two representatives. If a business sells defective merchandise and can't make an easy plan to replace or fix it, I feel that the customer deserves a discount for dealing with this. I now have to spend a 2nd day at home waiting for the furniture to exchanged. They agreed to a 10% discount for the dresser that has a nick in it but will waive the warranty for that area, which also doesn't make sense. Their phone representatives are courteous and friendly but don't solve...
