I know. I know.
Whats with the picture of an Arby's bag and the two wrappers from Arby's sandwiches purchased at the Arby's on Route 4 in Chatham, IL??
Read on for the answer.
I was headed back to Springfield from a couple hours of fishing with my good friend in his boat on Otter Lake. It was just a tad past 9 PM and as I was approaching Chatham, I remembered I had a coupon for BOGO at Arby's as part of their APPs specials for the weekend, and I could have one for my supper (as I had given one of my McDonald's "Golden" chicken wraps to my fishing host earlier) since I was still hungry.
Well, the APP strikes again. While not as terrible as WalMarts APP, it certainly has its own issues. Like on the same page it states that the Arby's in Chatham was now closed, AND on that same page, it clearly states the store was open till 10 PM!!
Aye Carumba!
Anyway, I decided to share my dilemma with the store as I'm already there, and as I drive around the building I spot an employee, who happens to be a managers there, and show her my APP. She is aware of the issue and offered to honor the deal.
Now that's how companies and supervisory staff "should" act but all to seldom do. I pulled up to the window and ordered exactly what I was going to via the "Arby's APP" and they honored the deal!
I ordered a French Dip Roast Beef and Swiss and their new sandwich, the Loaded Itallian. I was only going to eat the Dip, and maybe take a bite of the Itallian (that sounds so wrong) BUT unfortunately (or fortunately) after I took the one bite, I couldn't help myself, and finished the entire Itallian - it was that good!
I can't say much about the Dip as its oh, so.good in its own right, that one expects that. But that Loaded Itallian (with everything BUT NO ONIONS on it) was memorable.
And why the pictures of an empty bag and two empty sandwich wrappers? Simple. I couldn't put the sandwiches down long enough to take their picture, they were so...
Read moreI wish I could give less than one star. I went in not long after they opened and they gave me the wrong order. I called and complained but told him it wasn't worth coming back and I would just forget about it that things happen. The second time I went they did the same thing. Gave me the wrong order. So I called and complained again a little more strenuously. Again I did not go back. The manager told me to come back anytime and get any meal I wanted with any sides I wanted. It's been a few months but I went back tonight. The manager came to the window and told me that people have been trying to get free food and they didn't have my name and questioned me to the point that it was obvious he wasn't giving me my order for free. One time is okay. twice as bad. Three times with an attitude is not OK. I will never go back and neither will anyone in my family. Chatham needed more restaurants and now I'll never go there...
Read moreWe quit going to Chatham IL Arby's like a year or more ago because of the service and food, but I wanted to go and see if things were any better. To no surprise, it's worse than before. The employee's were rude and disrespectful. Screaming that they want to leave, not make more orders. The employee at the window was yelling to other employee's and whoever else was in the restaurant, "now her card declined". Yes, my card declined because I was over my daily spending limit, I used a different card, no problem. The food was just gross, hamburger was still bloody, (not med.well as sign states) the roast beef was thick, hard and cold, the fries were very cold and the potatoe cakes were cold, stuck together and mushy. I should have just threw the $40 in the garbage. I blame myself for thinking that place may have changed. Will...
