Almeida's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Chatom

I actually like the food here. I was a little disappointed in the management. I ordered a huge maragarita which was honestly more than I could drink (my fault). Since I'm from Louisiana I asked if I could get it in a to go cup and the waitress politely told me they couldn't do that. My daughter ordered a to go water and the manager/owner reminded us we couldn't take alcohol to go. Can't blame her for wanting to reinforce the rules....got it. I told my daughter she could go to the car while I sat and finished my drink. A different waitress yells out to her that she, my 17 year old, couldn't take her cup out. To be clear the WATER to go cup that was given her. The young lady apologized to me and the manager said...don't worry about it you were doing your job. So her job was to try to embarrass my daughter walking out of the restaurant? Again my waitress addressed it, the owner/manager addressed it and there was still a need to try and stop my daughter. Update 5/15/19 -- Can you give this place ten stars!!! :) We just keep going back. This place has great food, and friendly folks. The Guacamole dip and the Pico is awesome. I can't say enough about this place. I highly recommend it to everyone. Even people who don't normally eat Mexican food. Trust me, they have something for everyone.

1/19 -- We visited there Sunday and the first thing I noticed about the place was how good it smelled in there. The aroma was delicious.

I'm usually not big on Mexican food, my idea of Mexican is along the lines of what Deadpool eats. That being said, this place is AMAZING! I've eaten at the chain Mexican places in Mobile and the Mississippi Gulfcoast, they pale in comparison to these guys. I usually only get enchiladas when I go to a Mexican restaurant. By far the best enchiladas I've ever tasted in my life. There isn't a lot to eat or do in Chatom, AL but if you find yourself on AL 17 for some reason, definitely stop...
